I reckon GBS is buying up their houses as they shut the door on their way out to Munster, France & Sidney!

The properties I am buying is strictly for spitting and polishing up a bit, then renting it out.

I am looking to get 15 – 20% RIO (Return on Investment) per year… sometimes a bit more. Property needs to pay for itself withing at least 6 years.

In addition I of course get the benefit of capital appreciation on the property itself also.

    @ Just For Kicks:
    Howzit JFK.
Will be traveling through our old valley tomorrow on route to Arniston.
Looking forward to the drive, but not sure what the fire damage will look like down there

  • 45

@ Just For Kicks: Howzit JFK. Its what I was thinking, just not saying. Possibility exists GB could own the Panne one of these days. 🙂

  • 46

@ grootblousmile: makes good sense. One simply has to hope the rent actually gets paid though and the place isn’t trashed in the process. Hope you have a good lawyer. 😆

@ nortie: Hullo Nortie. What’s a Kempton boytjie (I think we can call you that now) doing down here in the smoke wind & fire when you could be watching planes land.

    @ Tassies:
    Howzit Tassies.
Not there yet, flying early morning to Nelspruit and then from Nelspruit to CT. Arniston on Monday evening, appointment on Tuesday at Overberg Test Range then staying at Stellenbosch for the rest of the week. Flying back on Friday.

    @ Tassies:
#25 thanks Tassies there were some good players but made too many mistakes like knock ons. Nice to get your opinion as often think a supporter of team is more pessimistic about the performance especially when losing. Was concerned as many of the players have not been in good domestic form this season and quite a few were coming back from injury like Bennett Seymour Maitland Dickenson etc and there are some out injured Visser Pyrgos Ashe etc and Strauss was out for a while only on for a bit as sub last week for Glasgow.

goodness this bloody wind wont give us a bloody break. Was up early this morning hoping the weather forecasts got it wrong. A few diehards tried a training-run to Simonstown but not the more sensible. 40kph SEaster down Muizenberg way at 6 this morning. That can lift you neatly off the saddle and dump you into surfers corner. Been blowing ten kinds out of sh1t for three weeks now. Going to kak off on March 6 methinks.

@ nortie: that sounds like a job I could enjoy. Try the Elim wines while there. The whites are supurb.

Hi Norts, sorry, just popped out to walk the dogs during H/T. Yes, the damage out there is pretty extensive (not as bad as Stellenbosch), and I have a couple of mates who got some very lucky escapes – my best mate and his family were actually walking away from their house as the fire crept closer and closer. Just a miracle saved it. If you are close, pop in to Highlands Road Estate and ask for Aussie Bob – he’ll give you a coffee and keep you right.

this game has turned. Irish might be tiring, after a high octane opening 20

Won’t be long before he’s his own mayor, police force, judge and jury. When it all gets to big, he’ll become his own mafia and start pimping himself out to himself too!

There’s certainly some passion in the 6N in the 2 games I’ve seen so far. Good rugby.

  • 57

    @ Tassies: well, maybe not…….

  • 58

    46 @ Tassies:
    I am a very, very uncompromising landlord…

If rent is paid one day late, the tennant WILL KAK BRICKS and their rental agreement will contain an escalation clause to shorten their remaining rental period AS WELL AS stipulating an additional rental deposit (increasing it to 2 months rental in stead of just 1).

I also inspect the properies inside and out every month… personally… if anything is amiss they WILL KAK BRICKS!

If you give a tennant a pinkie, they are bound to grab a whole hand.

Bugger the tennant, it is MY investment, not theirs to piss down the tubes!

    Yeah, that’s about it…
