@ grootblousmile: was!!!!!!
12 Tries in the match!
5 Tries by the Barbarians, 7 Tries by Los Pumas!
Wonderful festival game!
SANZAR looking at this game, probably already planning the second Argie franchise for SR, just to split these guys up a little.
Playing against a team that sticks together all year, SR teams will be calling for some sort of handicap.
that guy(MOM) is one outstanding player. I think we are going to enjoy watching him play for years to come. I hope he plays in SR.
98 @ Tassies:
Yes, lots of retirements and lots of All Blacks now overseas…
Ma’a Nonu, Dan Carter, Conrad Smith…

They must’nt fark around with the Argies Super Rugby side… give them their moment in the sun, I say!
I think a very interesting 2016 Super Rugby season awaits us all!
@ grootblousmile: which is why I made the claim. The new kids on the block are simply playing outstanding rugby and the new AB’s are going to have their work cut out. Our guys simply have a long way to go to catch up. It could take a few years and a decent coach.

Well they will have two years till 2018
I’m not going to do a Live Game Thread for the European Rugby Champions Cup game between Scarlets vs Racing Metro.
We’ll sommer talk here about it.
Now watch the contrast in rugby between these 2 games, gentlemen!
107 @ grootblousmile:
That’s hardly a fair comparison on various levels
108 @ Bullscot:
I know, the BaaBaas / Pumas game was a festival game, whilst the other is a steady Championship game, one of many Rounds.
That said… and once again, I understand the difference…
But have a look at the skill levels Bully, see the plethera of scrums we will have, we’ll see not many offloads in the tackle… that’s just the rugby the Northern Hemisphere teams play!
Last night’s game between Ulster vs Saracens was freegin bliksems boring stampkar rugby… all the time! In the 10 minutes after halftime in that game, we saw 8 scrums, a few of which ended in scrum penalties, just to give jou an example!
Now what I want all SA sides to do is have a little flair in them, play a balanced game, develop some skills, play with a bit of adventure… whilst keeping defence solid and playing real rugby without playing helter-skelter rugby.
We have a window of opportunity here in 2016, to change the SA rugby destiny in 2016, and keep it going thereafter!
@ Bullscot: Hi BS. No it isn’t. But its a fact. It’ll be a serious climb-down. So, in a way, I kind of understand where GB is coming from. He’s also getting lazy. 😯
Leinster just lost to Bath, with George Ford kicking the winning 3 points a few minutes from the end – Bath 19/16 Leinster. This is Leinster’s 2nd loss out of 2 Champions Cup games, going to be hard for them to qualify for the quarter finals with Toulon also in their pool, and a Wasps team that seems to be playing well lately.
That was a hellava game we’ve just been privileged to watch. I don’t wish to watch any other game tonight. It’ll spoil the memory. That is simply how rugby was intended to be played. I know. I know. Test match rugby is a different animal. But hell man, we enjoy the game for what it is. Ball handling entertainment. We saw that today. In spades.

Fok, Tasse… die werk raak nie klaar nie, die man raak klaar… en ek is fokken moeg, buddie!
We got to bed at 04:00 this morning, because Handbriekie & BonzaiHandbriekie’s partner in their restaurant business, was involved in a nasty car accident last night at about 20:00.
He went into the back of a truck, then veered off the highway, took out some poles and 3 trees… and had to be cut out.
Bad concussion, cut on the head, broken rib, both eyes swolen shut, chest impact, neck vertabrae injuries (not too bad), broken right leg high up, burst or badly broken ankle / heel…
He is in surgery as we speak!
Last night it was getting him to Lynnmed Hospital, then over to Millpark Hospital…. ect!
If Mitch decides to hitch his wagon to WPRFU then I sincerely hope he brings some of the entertainment back into our game. We lost it years ago and its time someone has the guts to bring it back. Ditto the Boks. Heyneke alienated many people to our beloved Springbok side. They never stopped supporting but they certainly weren’t enamoured with the way we played our rugby. At times it was atrocious. They = I.
109 @ grootblousmile:
For a start as you say a lot more at stake than in the Baabaas game, it is amazing what difference pressure can do to players especially the pressure of less space with defenders far more keen than I am guessing they were for times in the Baabaas game. Plus of course the pressure to win to get pool points to try get to the knockouts etc, whereas the Baabaas were purely playing for fun got paid regardless of the result.
Am not sure but the Scarlets field is possibly not as wide as the one at Twickenham so less space to attack and how do the undefoot and overhead conditions compare, it has been drier for longer in London today than it has been in south Wales.
Plus it was an international comparing vs club game so the quality should be higher. May also be a tough game for Racing.
Anyway the Scarlets under Wayne Pivac have been trying to play a more expansive game so hopefully you guys get some entertainment.
Only got so see part of the Ulster v Sarries game thanks to BT, and it was damn cold and pouring in the 2nd half, thought the try Duncan Taylor scored was quite a well worked move good running by Farrell so couldn’t have been stampkar the whole game.
113 @ grootblousmile:
Ahh man that sounds nasty sorry to hear that, hope it all goes well with the surgery and recovery from there, thinking of you guys.
@ grootblousmile: geez GB I’m sorry mate. Don’t wish that kind of thing on my worst enemy. I sincerely hope he recovers and is not too worse the wear for it. I’ve done the broken bones bit. Its not nice. Our roads are seriously dangerous. Which is why I drive like a snail these days and fortunately the taxis give me a wide berth. But I fear for my lighties and their mates who drive smaller vehicles and don’t share my caution.
‘Lazyness’ was said tongue in cheek by the way.
But…keep up the good work. Its appreciated by all I’m sure.
115 @ Bullscot:
You don’t have to get defensive about Northern Hemisphere rugby, Bully…
But hey, it is my opinion that there is a reason why Southern Hemisphere rugby is better than Northern Hemisphere Rugby at present.
And it starts at Club level, it goes right through the Top 14, the Premiership, the Challenge Cup, the Champions Cup… and all the way into the Six Nations… and beyond that!
@ Bullscot: GB was exaggerating. I enjoyed the game. There was some quality rugby on show. Sarries are a quality side and I just happen to support them(for the obvious reasons). I don’t think we intentionally look down on NH rugby. But we do prefer ours it must be said.

Freegin truck was from North-West Province somewhere… with no visible lights at the back, at the dead of night on the Highway… was a recipy for disaster!
Luckily BonzaiHandbriekie’s fiance has connections in the Medical Rescue world, and he phoned them and they responded with full life support vehicles in record time.
The freegin other ambulances who got there, were just freegin chuck wagons, it seems!
