Now an Ireland lineout on attack… Ireland could put it beyond doubt here, if they are clinical
Shoulder charge checked by the TMO
It will be an Italian penalty… and a Yellow Card to Peter O’Mahony!
Now it’s the swing of the pendulum… can Italy do something good against 14 men?
No, they can’t, turnover Ireland scrum
@ Just For Kicks:
It is the Grand Prix that normally sends me to sleep on a Sunday! 🙂
7 Minutes to go, the deficit is also 7
@ robzim:
Hello There, how was your Mountain Bike race yesterday morning?
Did you crash? 🙂
Italy scrum penalty… another golden chance for Italy!
Lineout on the Ireland 22… it’s do or die from here!

Oh.. I always thought it is the football 🙂
Italy lineout overthrow… they do not want the win, it seems!
@ grootblousmile:
Has Rugby Fatigue kicked in for you yet?
Sexton keeps Italy pegged back in their own 22…
Sands of time running out for Italy here
@ nortie:
“Ireland today has undone a lot of what they have managed in the WC so far. Up to today they were one of the top most impressive sides, Australia definitely took over that mantle yesterday”
Might actually do Ireland some good to have a bad game now. As Naas used to say, the Currie Cup is not won in May. The same goes for the WC: you don’t win the thing in the pool rounds (although you obviously can lose it there – witness England). Earlier All Black WC teams used to destroy everyone in their pool, and then had their one bad game when it mattered.

It would, but I will not probably be in the room if football is on! 🙂
101 @ Blue Bird:
What is that??
Not possible…
22m Drop out by Italy.
Only 3 minutes and a few seconds remain
Knock by Italy… Ireland counter-attack
Again an uppie by Conor Murray… and the ref rules obstruction against Italy in the kick chase.
Ireland penalty.
Shot at goal by Sexton… 1 minute to go
Missed… Italy run it from their line

mmm… u dont have to hate the game only because Chipping Norton United cannot make it to the the premier league 🙂
Ireland have the ball… time is up on the clock!
Sexton hacks it out.
Ireland win
Good effort by Italy… It was nearly a Sunday bloody Sunday for Ireland if i must quote Bono.
Final Score: Ireland (10) 16 / 9 (6) Italy
Italy effectively out of the Quarters now too!
… and so they fall..
Ireland now already qualify for the Quarters, but it is still a race between them and France to end 1st in the Pool!

I’m not disagreeing, however, I would never have considered Ireland as a possible WC winner.
There are much better teams than them, but, IMO up to today they looked like one of the most impressive sides. Today they disappointed, taking nothing away from Italy, but this was the 6 Nations champion side playing the 6 Nations wooden spoon side, but it was difficult to determine which side was which

@ 116
The only northern hemisphere team that canwin this tournament is France imo… i still think that NZ will take it though although the Aussies are looking very dangerous.. The Boks are in with a very long shot…
OK chaps… I’m going to do some Logs & Results and Bru Pool Leaderboards, them mosey on off to bed.
Have a good one!

Cheers… thanks for your hard work to keep the site up to date.. much appreciated
But is it not a bit early for bed?
117 @ robzim:
Yep, France can make it to a final, but that’s that.
After today’s showing by Ireland I’m sure France will be thinking, “ok, we can take them”
That means if France win Ireland must face the All Blacks in the QF, and that’s their WC finish en klaar
