One last France scrum, deeep in their own half.
Tima already up on the clock.
Sean O’Brien named Man Of The Match!
Ciao a tutti!
Now for the quarters!
Big Irish scrum, France gets their ball though… and they knock.
Game over!
Final Score: Ireland (9) 24 / 9 (6) France
Fantastic test match, well done Ireland, great game.
Also well done France, barring the last 15 odd minutes, was right in it and defended fantastically well
Geez dominant by Ireland, I hope for their part there is not too many injuries and the O Brien does not get punished too harshly after that punch he game to the french player in his stomach.
Ireland deserved this full-on!
Now for their injury count… eishhhh!
Good job Ireland. Well deserved. A truly brutal encounter which took its toll.
One more game tonight… Japan Brave Blossoms against the USA Eagles… at 21:00 SA Time!
I only went Ireland by 5 on Bru… so the win right but the margin wrong!
Geez, this is THE world cup to win
@ grootblousmile:
Japan victory for the GSP, I hope they have one more big game in them
Great win by Ireland – AB’s already sleeping less easy! Cheers Turky. Catch up next week all. Very exciting semi’s coming up. Turning out to be a great WC for anyone not english!
Ireland are a real dark horse for the Title!

Went Ireland by 6, but don’t even mind, the win was vital, lots of people picked France.
Need Japan to win now for the extra 2 GSP points
192 @ nortie:
Yeah, I’m also headed for the GSP, if Japan win!

Argentina to knock them out next week, all RC semi finals

Ireland are very clinical… doubt the Pumas can take them…
I back the 4 Pool winners to make it into the semis…
OK, an hour and 10 minutes to the last Pool game!
See you lot in a little while… want to go find out in the house what the forgotten wifey says and does…

Depends who is still standing for Ireland, plus if a team can beat the Boks away, they can beat anyone.
Argentina to me is looking about the most impressive side of all so far
Well done Ireland.
They have a great path to a possible final. Some of the injuries to their players looked a bit serious especially that of O’Connell. Might be the end of his test career ala Woodcock.
@ Victoriabok:
I suggest you avoid the sushi then 😉
I know it is not as serious as a punch to the face, but had Ireland been playing the All Blacks there would be no doubt that O’Brien would already have been cited.
Would be a thoroughly deserved suspension IMO.
@ MacroPolo:
What difference would that make?
205 @ MacroPolo:
Straight Red IMO!
Dirty Irish git!
Big blow for Ireland – Peter O’Mahony has been ruled out of rest of RWC due to knee ligament injury he picked up in this game. Sexton and O’Connell are having scans today.
205 @ MacroPolo:
Didn’t watch the game, was there at least a penalty against him for this. Would have looked a lot worse if it was to the face as you say. Haven’t seen on RWC site if he has been cited yet but they still have a few hours to do so if they are going to. It shouldn’t be a factor but I wonder if the injuries Ireland have picked up will play a part in whether he is cited or not, surely they will want the best possible teams facing each other in the quarter finals….
206 @ NZINCHINA:
Hi NZINCHINA, I presume you are asking Macro what difference would it make if O’Brien got a suspension? In my opinion it would make a huge difference as he is a VERY GOOD player, one of the best in his position and Ireland are already without O’Mahony, another of their star flankers, due to injury.
