I see Willem A.lberts has been withdrawn from the starting lineup. That guy has to be the biggest walking sick-note ever. Doing a calf strain in the captains run. For gods sake, what next?

  • 2

    @ IAAS:
No he’s not, they are all fit and ready to go, didn’t you see the press release?

And in the spirit of Ubuntu, what does our coach do….he leaves the black player who is a flank on the bench and selects a white lock in his place.

I can’t understand if he is just naive, obtuse or plain stupid

Guys, I didn’t have enough time to get the officials’ details etc, so please excuse me.

Just about got this thread up before the Lions / Sharks game started.

No sweat Scrummy….if he blows in our favor we will just refer to him as darling, if he blows against us he will be referred to as “that doos with the whistle”

    @ nortie:

It was just a matter of time before he broke down again. I just wasn’t expecting it to be in the captains run. WTF.

  • 6

    @ IAAS:
Yep, if they really want to write something newsworthy about him it should be when he actually plays a game

  • 7

    @ IAAS:
But this shows what a gamble they took with selecting injured players and not fully fit guys.

  • 8

    Ireland 29-0 Canada
    Half time

GBS is back in circulation, so he’ll take over the Captaincy for this game.

    Enjoy it guys.

GBS just check that I got the Alberts withdrawl thingy right please.

I’m sure I heard Eben is now on the bench but didn’t catch what number.

  • 10

    Hellloooooooooooo

Back from the Platteland… and what a trip it was!!

Thanks Bully and Scrumdown, you are magnificent fellas which one can ALWAYS depend on!!

  • 11

Still 29/0 to Ireland but they are on attack

Why does t have to be so sinister? Hasnt psdt come on as flank for the springboks before. He was also on the bench.

I think its a good option to replace alberts personally.

  • 13

    5 @ IAAS:
How many injuries has eben had at practice?

I think its a good option to replace alberts personally.

Considering all the furore after the group was announced and after he moved Kriel to wing, it would have been a much more sensible move to start with Kolisi.

Look at the bigger picture here.

PSdT has never played flank for the Boks, or even for the Sharks, so a coach that just two weeks ago proclaimed that he isn’t racist, omits a black flank to make place for a white lock who has hardly played in 2015?

I find it naive and short sighted, and against Japan he could have played Kolisi and maybe even won some new fans.

  • 15

    @ grootblousmile:
Welcome back again Gbs in good time to see the Boks, was a busy time so just did what I could

  • 16

    @ nortie:
14- had that happened mo doubt some would have been saying Mr Meyer is just paying lip service bringing him on to start against a minnow, damned if you do damned if you don’t it seems…

  • 17

    @ Bullscot:
Probably right Bully, maybe he is secure in the knowledge that he is coach for the next 4 years so he can say “stuff it, I’ll pick my side my way”?

  • 18

    @ nortie:
Sure. I getting yourplant on the political point. But psdt replaced alberts on flank in the last test vs Argentina. And played there before when we won in france.

  • 19

    YES DTH!

  • 20

I for one am excited to see what he can do… Touch wood he doesnt get injured 😀

  • 22

    @ MacroPolo:
Let’s hope he doesn’t get injured, but then again it will be interesting to see how Eben goes on the flank should he come off 😀

  • 23

    @ nortie:
Hehe well kolisi already has 11 test caps so im sure he will come on today eventually. Maybe with more than three minutes to go.

  • 24

    @ nortie:
Du Toit is possibly more of a like for like replacement playing wise for Alberts than Xolisi. Do you not think in terms of covering loose forward that Xolisi is far more versatile than du Toit so may be better cover on the bench?

  • 25

    😀

  • 26

    15 @ Bullscot:
Yeah man… I was not going to miss a minute of Springbok Rugby, so these last few days we worked like galley slaves!!

Was in a very, very beautiful part of the country, near the Hayes-Hope Dam, in the Wakkerstroom district (Between Piet Retief, Wakkerstroom & Amersfoord).

Finished 3 BIG Solar Power installations and 3 smaller Mobile Repeater installations in the area and have got more business already lined up there… have to go back either this coming week or the week thereafter.. not for that long though.

  • 27

Ireland running away with it 7th try

Exactly. After last years end of year tour there was wide concensus that the boks need a alberts type player for europe. And psdt is that. More so than kolisi.

He certainly is a like for like with Alberts regarding injuries.

If this was against a 1st tier nation, I could understand his skepticism, but against Japan?

I’m just saying that HM missed a trick in showing all those politicians who have been on his case that he doesn’t pick only on color.

It would not have weakened the side if he bumped Kolisi up to a starting berth, seeing that he was already on the bench as cover for flank.
