Final Score: Xerox Golden Lions (30) 36 / 28 (7) Vodacom Blue Bulls
Congrats scrumdown and lions4ever.
Interesting that the Blue Bulls scored 4 tries to only 3 by the Golden Lions… but Marnitz Boshoff’s boot was the difference, with the plethera of penalties the Golden Lions got.
Blue Bulls weak scrum cost them in the 1st half… big time.
The heart and passion of the Blue Bulls to come back so well from 30 points down, was massive though.
Was a very interesting and entertaining game by the 2 clear leaders of the Currie Cup pack
Blue Bulls also absolutely gifted the Golden Lions 2 of their 3 tries…. the Combrink intercept one, and when they gifted Mnisi the ball inside the Blue Bulls 22… he passed to Franco Mostert who scored.

Dit was as gevolg van pressure, hulle het net aangehou… so kan dit vir hulle gee
At least we now know the Blue Bulls fitness is right up there with that of the Golden Lions, to play 80 minutes plus.
Anyway, was a very interesting afternoon & evening’s rugby… and if this is the type of rugby South Africa can produce, then there is hope… lots of it.
143 @ MacroPolo:
Golden Lions was by farrrr the stronger team in the 1st half, and the Blue Bulls were the better side in the 2nd half.
It was a mountain to climb to come back from 30 points down though.
So, my verdict on Jan Serfontein….. he is wayyyyyyyyy off peak and at this stage Burger Odendaal is a much better player than Jan.
Ek dink Chuck Nollis het halftyd die Bulle se bekke oopgerek en op hulle harte gekak, want hulle was eenvoudig ‘n veel beter span na halftyd
Well done Bulls and Lions for a good match. Classic cliché match of 2 halves. Glad my boys won. The quality of rugby played by the Bulls and Lions show why they are the clear leaders at the top of the log.
148 @ Lion4ever:
Congrats ou pellie, with your team’s win!
Nouja, nou gaan ek Mieliesssss Gooi hier met ‘n paar doppe…
