    @ Nama:

    Hahaha… nee man.

    @ Nama:
Ek verstaan jou frustrasie nama. Maar julle sit omtrent baie energie in n ding wat julle nie kan verander nie. Veral op n vrydag aand 😉

    @ MacroPolo:
Cape Town – The Springbok coaching job is a hot topic at present with incumbent Heyneke Meyer under fire.

Former Lions coach Eugene ‘Loffie’ Eloff has it on good authority that his old mate, former Sharks coach John Plumtree, wants the Bok job.

    @ nortie:
I agree, whoever takes over next term would be interesting.

What do you think about plumtree?

  • 217

Come to the FS Cheetahs / Golden Lions thread

  • 218

    @ MacroPolo:
    I wouldn’t have a problem with Plumtree.
Firstly he is a Kiwi, that means he knows rugby better than the SA coaches 😀
He also did well with Ireland and lately the Hurricanes, he has as least kept up with current trends.

He won’t revert to players who were good 8 years ago.

Definitely an improvement over what we have now.

  • 219

@ nortie:he will, mallet etc would probably have slected 95% the same squad we have now.

  • 220

    @ nortie:
You giys expect sweeping changes. But i find it hard to believe that it would happen except in hindsight

If the squad was all 100% fit and had played SR all year and was in good nick and had good seasons, then nobody would have had an issue with them.

The fact that they are not, is what pisses some of us off. You don’t go to a WC with the hope that what you wanted 4 years ago is fit and ready today.

It’s one thing selecting one or two seriously important players who might still have a niggle, not the bloody core of your side.

  • 222

    @ MacroPolo:
Meyer is showing true colors now, he selected those players, his game plan is outdated, as is those players, yet he blames them for not following his instructions.

Once they start turning on each other like we are seeing now, it means the damage is far greater than we even thought.

I honestly believe the best thing that happen is for us to just fall out and get back, but that won’t happen.

  • 223

    @ nortie:
Do you think any other coach in the same position would have done it any differently? Nope

Had conrad smith, aaron amith, retallick, mccaw and nonu missed the whole year only to be ready for the wc there is absolutely no way hanson would have left them out. Especially if the best the rest of the guys managed in sr was seventh.

  • 224

    @ nortie:
Id plame the strategy especially vs japan. And the lethargic display in dbn on meyer.

If cheika had to wait all year to have kuridrani, folau, pocock, hooper, moore before the wc there is no ways that would happen its inconveivable.

  • 225

    @ MacroPolo:
    Not sure I agree.

Our best in SR wasn’t 7th in every of the 4 years that HM was coach. The only time he really brought in youngsters was due to injury to his 1st choice players and then he expected us to believe him when he said it was always his plan.

He is a failure at International rugby, that is the bottom line, he has polarized our rugby like no one else, he has turned Bok supporters against their own team.

The damage he has caused is unbelievable

  • 226

    @ nortie:
Well we had a 70% success ratio before this year?

  • 227

    @ nortie:
I dont think he personally polarized our support. But he was probably a catalyst.

  • 228

    @ MacroPolo:
When the players were uninjured and fit.
Now they are not, but because he didn’t build depth he had no one to replace them with, hence he still went and picked them.

Look, we will always disagree on this, you rate the guy and will defend him with everything you have, I can’t stand him at the moment and am sick of him and his lies and apologies and can’t wait to see him buggier off from Bok rugby.

So let’s just agree to disagree 😆

You won’t convince me that he has a clue and I won’t convince you that he is a failure

Have you read the other websites lately?

People are hoping the Boks lose, that’s how bad it’s become.

People are sick of Meyer and his lies and apologies, they can’t wait for the Boks to just crash out of the WC so that Meyer can be fired.

It’s worse than under any other coach ever

  • 230

    @ nortie:
No what you dont understand, you think everything i say is in defence of him. I agree he stuffed up with his tactics, however i disagree any other coach would have had a huge change in selection policy, had australia or nz lost many players like us to injury before or during the rugby championship and would have selected them had they been ready for the world cup as well.

  • 231

    @ nortie:
On other websites or even this one the springboks certainly serve as a catalyst for most arguments. Hell almost any topic transforms into a meyer arguemtn

  • 232

    @ nortie:
    The way i see it.

People disagree with some selections by meyer, so do i, but those people cant even agree on a alternative team but the bulk from what i have seen is still the core of the team meyer selected.

The public love jumping on the bandwagon for any cause.
