If one wants to embrace a much more running game in SA, as opposed to the old stampkar game, then one will have to embrace free-flowing and attacking rugby… with weaker defences and lots of tries.
It is only by running into space so much, that SA players in general will learn to play a naturally more expansive game.
One can train and add better defensive structures as things go along from there… defence and tackling is something you can teach and develop, whereas natural flair needs to be nurtured in the application of the game situations… for the naturally talented attackers to come through well.
Try Jaco van der Walt, Golden Lions… under the sticks
Golden Lions 59 / 24 FS Cheetahs
8 Minutes left to play… can the Lions hit the 60’s and possibly the 70’s?
Try Francois Venter, Staat
Golden Lions 59 / 31 FS Cheetahs
Golden Lions penalty, against Luan de Bruin, angling in at the scrum
Try Kwagga Smith, Lions… into the 60’s it is!
Golden Lions 66 / 31 FS Cheetahs
Try Anthony Volmink, Golden Lions… and into the 70’s they go…
Final Score: Xerox Golden Lions (31) 73 / 31 (10) Toyota Free State Cheetahs
Looks like a festival of running rugby has been going on here
Noted there were 3 tries by flanker Vincent Jobo, didn’t know about him before, what are your thought GBS?
Well done Lions – making a mockery of SA rugby at the moment #leagueoftheirown.
Huge match coming up later – and thats not the Boks game. The Eng/Wales game being touted as the game of the WC. Its all anyones talking about here!
@ Just For Kicks:
Hi JFK how’s it going, are you back south of the border at the moment?
57 @ Bullscot:
Lots of potential… it was his Free State debut to boot… and he scored 3 tries!
