269 @ grootblousmile:At least we can be sure that they didn’t do a runner from the pubs – being unable to work together as a team would ensure that wouldn’t all be able to get away!

So, The Rugby Championship is finished… there is 1 more Test for the Bokke prior to the Rugby World Cup.

Blindside flank: Willem Alberts & Marcell Coetzee

    @ grootblousmile:

They’ll probably need another week-long pub crawl to get over this embarrassment. The only positive one can take out of this game is… nope, strike that, there was no positives.

  • 274

    273 @ Vrystaat:
    Yip… I find no positives…

The closest to a positive for me was Lood de Jager

  • 275

If the Springboks perform poorly against the Pumas it will be a hammer blow, as all the good work done over the first two Rugby Championship tests against Australia and New Zealand would be lost.

As such, over the next fortnight, the Springboks essentially have everything to lose and nothing to gain against their South American foes.

    Ja, eina !

Some seriously hard and harsh words and deeds needs to be done now on the Bokke camp…

Cut them right down to size… and work every fucking day, 7 days a week, on their fitness & conditioning and mental metal…

Cut away the useless shit… and continue with the group going to the World Cup.

To me that means telling JP Pietersen to fuck the hell off, letting Koch & Malherbe go to their province, getting rid of Oupa Mohoje, Siya Kolisi, Warren Whitely, Jan Serfontein… ect.

Oh, I forgot about Morné Steyn… I’d have him in the squad… and have Pat Lambie double as Fullback cover.

I’d have a 3rd Scrumhalf as the other backline utility, seeing as Hougie can double as a left or right wing option in an emergency… so who’s the 3rd scrummie… surely not Rudy Paige or Reinach or Ruan Pienaar (according to me)… how’s about Jano Vermaak.

Argentina’s gonna be a force in next year’s Super Rugby

    G’nite

  • 278

@ Pietman: Yip. Their dodgy record has been topped by a pathetic Springbok team. I’ve never (in my lifetime) seen so many unforced errors across 80 mins made by a Bok team. This is a poor team. No question about it.

  • 279

  • 280

Jake was out of his depth and pulled in Eddie.

Think HM should do the same and hand over the reigns to Vic and FDP.

Excellent, passionate, performance by the Argies though. They gonna be a handful in those wet conditions come RWC.

  • 281

Eish, I do not understand how the Springboks went from dominating 60 minutes (and playing well) 2 and 3 weeks ago before fading and conspiring to lose both games we should have been able to close out… to this abomination!

What’s different from 2 weeks ago?

Jean de Villiers back but we have no Jannie du Plessis & no Francois Louw…. what else?

To me that may be a strong indication that we are in the poo without old Doc Jannie and Flo… and better off without Jean de Villiers…

What did Jean de Villiers add to the game today??

  • 282

Springbok defence today was half-hearted and shocking!

  • 283

Am I alone here… lamenting everything?

Or are you guys just drinking seriously?

    Amazed

  • 284

So, where to from here? All bets are off regarding the Boks prospects for the WC. For the Aussies and the Kiwis one can clearly see their plan. For the Boks, I can’t see one. Not now. Who’s our first choice No 10 for example? If fact who’s our top No 9? Jean was hopeless today. Is he our No 1 captain? Is Matfield going to be our No 1 lineout jumper? You get my drift. Its all as clear as mud right now.

  • 285

Maybe this loss was a ploy by Heyneke to set the other top nations at ease about how kak the Bokke are, where in fact they have plenty in the tank?

    I wish…

    Hahaha

  • 286

@ grootblousmile: nope. But I’m drinking water just to avoid the temptation to drown my sorrows. You GB?

  • 287

    286 @ Tassies:
Dry as a Camel here… not even lus to drown my sorrows.

    Drinking Brown Cow… (Milk & Coke mixed)…

  • 288

  • 289

    @ grootblousmile:
    yeah, you wish, we wish……..

  • 290

    289 @ Tassies:
Maybe we should NEVER, EVER, EVER play “away from home” in the Independent Republic of Natal again… never!

    Sad

    Tired

  • 291

Pollard was ok en selfs goed by tye in vorige 2 toetse.

    😆

  • 292

    @ grootblousmile:

Jannie’s absence made a big difference. All those penalties against Koch gave the Argies plenty of momentum. As for the loose forwards (or should one say lose forwards?): too many fetcher types, not enough bruisers. Alberts is sorely missed. (Same for Vermeulen: much as I like Schalk, he’s not nearly as good a no. 8 as Vermeulen.) Agree that JdV should play from the bench (if at all). The Allende/Kriel partnership was one of the best things in the previous tests; why break them up? And then there’s 9/10/15… but maybe it’s better to skip that conversation and hit the bottle.

  • 293

but my head says our wishes are not likely to be granted. lol. No coach, not even Meyer(????), wants to lose a Test match. But lets assume for a minute that this was indeed his tactic. Then he did a bloody good job don’t you think. It just wasn’t disguised very well. lol

  • 294

How diabolical was Romain Poite with that 3rd Imhoff try… letting them play on with 4 medical personnel still on the field…

Ek strip sommer WEER my moer en gooi die boudjie weg!

  • 295

Congratulations Argentina! Not lekker for us to lose this one.

  • 296

    @ Ben-die-Bul:

Agree. Despite all the usual talk about SA’s amazing player talent, it seems to me that NZ has way more depth. The Boks can usually put together one good match 23, but the next-best tier is not nearly of the same quality. By contrast, NZ seems to be able to put out 2-3 quite different teams, and all of them are bloody good.

  • 297

So wie kan nog hierdie span versterk ?

    Jannie
    Vic
    Alberts
    Vermeulen
    FDP
    Fransie

    Wie nog ?

  • 298

Ireland climb above SA to 2nd place in World rankings. Sorry if it has been said before not read through all the comments. Wales 21/35 Ireland was the result in their warm up match.

  • 299

    297 @ Ben-die-Bul:
Vergeet Fransie… wanneer laas het hy ‘n betekenisvolle game gespeel?

Ek sou net gamble met Fourie du Preez wat in dieselfde bootjie as Fransie is, wat onlangse spel aanbetref… omtat die Bokke so rigtingloos en voos op skrumskakel is.

I’ve always thought Heyneke was the best man for the job, but after today we know he’s not.
Granted he had to deal with a lot of injuries especially key players injured at critical times

He keeps playing players out of position
He brings back unfit players before they’re ready

We will be luck to win all our pool games at the World Cup. Heyneke better phone Barend now for a contract at the Bulls, after the WC they won’t even take him

Jean de Villiers is nice guy and a good captain, but to break up the exiting Allende/Kriel combination?

Jean is good on defence but there’s a reason why the Stormers never scored a lot of tries in Super Rugby.
They never did with Jean/Fourie or Jean/De Jong or Jean/Allende, why would it be different at Bok level?

He’s also injury prone, will his six million Rand knee last the whole tournament?

Is it worth it to take him to the WC simply because he’s the captain?

We hype up young players too much at school level, so much in fact when they arrive at senior level they think they just need to show up and the game is won. Pollard has been hyped up for so long he believes it.

He can have moments of brilliance and win a game on his on, but mostly his flyhalf play has been average or below average.

You can afford it on fullback with Willie, he has two wings to help him if he makes mistakes

But your flyhalf must be solid, always no exceptions

Our front row has been a penalty machine for the opposition the whole season, we can’t coach front rows how to scrum anymore

We’ve been missing our big ball carriers a lot the whole Championship. I don’t think Whiteley is good enough at test level, he disappears like Spies

I’ve never thought we’d lost to Argentina, and if we did it would be with a point or two in some Cowtown in Argentina, not by a big margin in SA

As for Argentina, I’ve always maintained we’re picking a rod for our own arse by letting them play in the Championship. They have always been competitive at the World Cup, remember 2007?

Now they are used to playing the big boys yearly, they are going to be a hard nut to crack at the WC
