    @ nortie:
Drie spelers wat op goeie form nie die span maak nie en nou skielik is al die spelers onder dieselfde kombers?

Hel Nortie, jy val nou sommer uit n heel ander angle uit, sommer uit n boom uit met die strooi man argumente van jou.

Should a new Bok coach (in the event of a vacancy) not be selected exclusively from a short list of the very best CURRENT coaches?

Surely a Director of Rugby should not even be considered as a Bok coach as such a person has chosen to move on beyond coaching … ?

Neefok, one must decide what you wanna be: a player, a commentator, a studio analyst, a coach, a DoR, a CEO, a farmer, a businessman, a surfer, a lecherous cad or a “whatever else tickles one’s fancy” – but no one size fits all, of hoe?

    512 @ Angostura:
Wasn’t Meyer DoR when he was selected?

I get your point then, because as we can see from his appointment, being the chosen one in 2007 and getting a coaching role in 2012 is a bridge too far

Stormers played in the semis in 2004 when Smal was the coach. He is the DoR now.

He was the coach in 2005 as well, when we bent you over and fisted you 75-14 at Loftus

  • 515

    @ Angostura:
The problem with that is that it would be an extremely short list if we dont consider coaches from other countries.

  • 516

The list is always short …

If you want to judge a coach on results of 10 years ago, can we mention Heyneke’s record in 2004 when he won buggerall SR games?

  • 518

    @ Victoriabok:
Yeah…we were just doing our patriotic duty to help you go through to the semis. You needed to beat us by a certain margin to go through if I’m not mistaken.

  • 519

    518 @ Nama:
No, that was at Newlands 2007

  • 520

@ Nama: Hey Nama. Welcome home boet. We forgive you. (for the neglect you imposed on us). 😆 You missed us? That’s very clear.

They won’t stand for the politics involved in our rugby

  • 522

One can have a short list of current coaches …
    or
a long list of grootbek “non-practicing emeritus coaches” to select and coach a team of prima donna “non-playing emeritus players”? 🙂

Nog so een of twee CC wenne en Macro en Ben sal eis dat Nolis Marais die volgende Bok coach moet raak

    Nee eerder die Sharks afrigter

Dis die tipe resultate waaraan ons nou al goed gewoond is vir die Bok span

  • 524

    @ Angostura: very flukken 😆 😛 😀

  • 525

    @ Angostura:
    So, that would mean:

    Not to be considered:
    Mallet and Mitchell…TV analysts
    Ludeke…not coaching atm
    Smal…DoR

You’ve just made a very short list (afa potential coaches go) even shorter.

There is another way of looking at this….an overseas coach might not have the same prejudice that we find in most of our coaches.

They see players and potential only…look how Elton flourished under Carlos Spencer.

Imagine a Mvovo under a NZ coach, who knows what his potential might be

Of course you don’t. You constant defending of HM is just because…?

Afa Venter and Smal go, the one had reasonable success (his team reached the play offs) the other not so much.

So, you want me to go for the less successful one just because he is not from WP in order for me to prove that I’m not bias?

Nobody wants it, I even doubt if AC would take it

Maybe we should bring Barney back, he can get Victor and Fourie du Preez to help?

Come back Jake, all is forgiven…

    All right.

    @ Tassies:
Thank. Yes, I did miss the forum.

  • 530

@ nortie: ja but Ouma rusks do go stale if left in the tin Nortie. Then they taste shyte as you have no doubt experienced. But a good dunking in the Rick-koffie can mask that for a second and then we revert to type. 😯

  • 531

@ BrumbiesBoy: Nope. Hyet. Forget. Stay where you are. Lost in France.

The Bok coach is a much higher pressure job

I’m all for an overseas skills coach, like Eddie with Jake.

I remember how the Bulls scored tries once HM brought in Todd Louden to be the attack coach.

I wish he could contract him again for the World Cup, he really made a difference

  • 533

    @ Victoriabok:
Yes… that’s it. Why have nobody suggested that before. Their record speaks for themselves.

    -series win against the Lions.
-3 wins in a row against the AB.
    -3N win
    Wink

@ Nama: Dr Venter van die Strand?????

Re. defending constantly defending Meyer: I made a comment that had no relation to Meyer yesterday, and you and your chommie immediately fabricated it into a Meyer debate, which was never my intention, but an angle you chose, and unfortunately the provincialism argument seems to supersede anything else.

Venter has also had a measure of success, so I would not write him off as you do, I think he is just as good a candidate as Gert.

    @ Nama:
With JW mentoring them from afar over his walkie talkie while watching with his farlooker (binoculars).

  • 537

@ Victoriabok: Alastair would not make a great Bok coach. Too soft. Too much of a nice guy. Bit like Meyer maybe. We need a softie like………Mallett perhaps?

  • 538

    @ Tassies:
    Jip.

The guy with the most envious job in SA rugby currently.

If the Sharks perform bad, it’s all Gold. If they do well, it’s all because of his (Venter’s) great consultancy work.

come now Nama, you could not prove that you are not biased when it comes to WP to anyone that has ever blogged here.

And remember that SARU barely acknowledged Eddie Jones & wouldn’t even give him a Springbok blazer? One of the players (perhaps Jaque Fourie?) gave him his one…

They’ll struggle to attract any foreign coach worth his salt I believe & the uitlanders won’t stand for the political shyte either.

Carry on digging your hole, SARU.
