@ MacroPolo:
Thanks man. And no thanks to supersport, tried to watch the highlights and got this message:
“Please note: Due to rights restrictions, this video is not currently available in your territory.”
🙁
@ Bullscot:
Ai, you could try setting up a proxy, but if you don’t know how then its not worth the effort.
@ Bullscot:
Nvm you would take a week to stream something on one of the free local proxies.
362 @ MacroPolo:
Ja not any good for that thanks, oh well it seems one of the big pay sports TV lot here have ‘exclusive rights’ to broadcast the Currie Cup over here so this probably ties supersports hands a bit. Had a quick look there is a third party (I think) who are advertising that can watch it – Now TV – seem to have some access to the broadcaster here – for a small fee of £6.99 (what’s that about R150) you get a day pass to watch sport so you can use that to watch Currie Cup games – I don’t think so. Oh well got chores to get back to you.
@ Bullscot:
my mistake the NOW TV option is a Pay as you go way for people outside the UK to stream the broadcast from the lot who have the exclusive rights over here, phew too easily confused
Du Toit to join WP Rugby
August 24, 2015
Western Province Rugby can confirm that Springbok lock Pieter-Steph du Toit will be furthering his career with the DHL Stormers and DHL Western Province from November 1, 2015.
Having recently announced the signings of props JC Janse van Rensburg and JP Smith, as well as capturing the signature of Springbok winger Cornal Hendricks, the confirmation of Du Toit’s signing is a huge boost for both the DHL Stormers and DHL Western Province.
WP Director of Rugby Gert Smal commented: “We are excited that Pieter-Steph has decided to return (home) to the Cape, where he was born and raised, and so too is Cornal Hendricks – a tall, fast wing who is a proven performer at international level.
“JC (Janse van Rensburg) is an experienced loosehead prop with plenty top-level captaincy experience, so we believe all our signings will bolster us in key areas.”
Du Toit, who recently turned 23, was a member of the triumphant SA Under-20 team of 2012, before making his Test debut for the Springboks in Cardiff in November 2013.
To date he has played four Tests, the most recent being against Argentina in Buenos Aires earlier this month when he featured as a replacement flank – adding versatility to his many attributes, which include physicality, mobility and fantastic line-out and aerial skills.
“We want Western Province Rugby to continue to attract the biggest names in South Africa and someone like Pieter-Steph du Toit certainly fits the bill.
“We have our eye on a few more players, along with some re-signings that we will announce very soon, whilst we will also be concluding our search for a new Super Rugby coach shortly,” concluded Smal.

@ CoachPete: Hey Pete. Pity I missed you. Return sometime for a chat bud.
@ nortie:
Oh well, that finally puts an end to the worst kept secret in rugby.
I believe the junior bok lock Schikerling who broke his neck last year has also made a full recovery and has commenced with full contact training so things are looking quite rosy in that department.
Now only to sign Lucky Eddie and a decent flyhalf…..
@ robzim:
Howzit Rob.
Great news about Schikerling, very happy for him if he has made a full recovery.
Agree about Eddie and a decent 10, certainly in need of a 10 with international and SR experience.
We have some nice youngsters, but we need a game winner.
Wouldn’t Lambie be a great acquisition?
@ nortie:
Nobody in this country will better than Lambie for that position. Now that Goue Gerrie is stuffing up rugby in Sharksland I wont be surprised if more of their players get itchy feet
Signing psdt cant be cheap, firstly he got a good offer and then extra physios, drs and surgeons on stand by, but i guess then goosen also becomes attractive again as they can hit two birds with one stone with the extra medical staff.
Jokes aside, wp will either back du prees or they wil buy jc roos from the pumas… Both not bad options.
For flyhalf
