Nog interessante telllings,
CB friendly WP 6 Pumas 19
Cravenweek Boland 12 Bulle 40
Ek hou maar liewer my smoel.

I am a believer in karma.
Pollard and his father jinxed his career before it even started. Tried to fast track his career at the Bulls to become a Bok.
Had two good games in a Bok jersey and thats it.
Yesterday he messed up a try scoring opportunity early on but his real blunder was not kicking into touch from a penalty in the last ten mins.
Heyneke must be the coach with the easiest ride ever from the sporting journalists.
Losses seem to be glossed over even though he keeps repeating the same glass half full sound bites.
Coaches like Divvie, White, Mallett, Viljoen, Strauli etc were taken apart in the media even though some of them have managed much better than Meyer.
His latest excuse is now lamenting the lack of experience at the end of yesterday’s game, but who fault is that?
This is what happens when you plug along with old farts for three years putting all your eggs in the 2007 WC winning team’s basket and now are caught short when your key players are either injured or unfit 3 months out of the WC.
He is a very passionate and likable person and his positivity is infectious, eg one appearance on Boots & All and supporters get pumped up like crazy, but when things go pear shaped on the field all is forgiven and his excuses are lapped up with an “aw shucks, don’t stress, we are still on track for the World Cup”
Imagine what the media would have been writing about Divvie if this was his team with these results
A week is long time in sport, just ask the England cricket team

I dont understand, do you think we should have sent the substitutes on or not?

@ MacroPolo:
All of us, mere novices, know we should not have subbed those players in the context of the game….and this was not the first time either.
The Boks brains trust don’t seem to realize it though….
The subs was not the point of my post, my point is that HM can stuff up as often as he likes, yet there is no accountability. The rugby writers and many supporters are still, 4 years into his tenure, hanging onto his lips and forgive him after every loss. No one seems to be willing to call a spade a spade and admit that he is not on the right track, hasn’t got a decent team together, plays an outdated and dumb game plan, has too much faith in some of Jake’s winners, and those youngsters who he has decided to back like Pollard is not quite up to scratch yet.
It’s too late for him now to want to fall around looking for alternatives, he wasted three years prior to the World Cup already.
What I’m saying is, if this was any other coach he would have been lambasted, or like Jake, flown back due to a vote of no confidence, but HM seems bullet proof
From my perspective we lost because because our substitutes were poor compared to theirs, pocock and horwill just killed us.
Now in hindsight should we have not make tactical subs at all? and finish the game with the starting xv? would they have been able to keep up with the fresh legs of the Aussies? I guess we will never know, but it is always easier in hindsight, when Marcel got injured our entire loose trio was in shambles and out of balance AND tiring, Pocock could sweep in and take the spoils and he played a royal cameo.
I am not saying that Pollard or Willie is blameless in this loss but but we conceded 14 points without Pienaar, Coetzee and Pollard even being on the field.
The biggest failure of this game was Heinke, and surely he should be experienced, but the game got too big for him, Malherbe would be more experienced if he didn’t get injured so often and well Oupa, is becoming a serious burden to the Springboks, Strauss is also nearing 50 test caps for the Springboks, so you would expect him to be experienced
@ nortie:
Jake lost by 49 points to nil at that same ground where we lost in the last minute yesterday… and we should have won, that is what is most disappointing.
Dont get me wrong, i agree Meyer made a tactical error yesterday taking Bissie off, but surely anyone would expect that Strauss should be up to it.
@ MacroPolo:
Jake won a Tri- nations and a World Cup.
Divvie won a Tri-nations, Lions series and beat the All Blacks home and away.
Meyer hasn’t accomplished anything close to that yet.
I’m just amazed at how little criticism he cops and how supporters are still of the opinion that he is on the right track.
Better international coaches than him has received far more flak for less.
To be honest, I don’t really care anymore, he has a few games left over before he is gone, and what ever happens, happens.
I don’t have much faith in our team at the moment, I don’t have much faith in our coaching either.
Maybe they surprise me and win the World Cup, who knows, but I won’t be putting money on it
@ nortie:
Unfortunately when you compare Meyer to those guys, yes he has not been able to win anything, but the fact that he has a better win record than those guys puts it into perspective… with those other guys it was a roller coaster, where we can do well in spurts but also really REALLY suck, and it is at those times that those guys got lambasted… and rightfully so.
nortie wrote:
Unfortunately neither do I, our depth is already being tested at this stage, it contrary to popular belief, it is something we simply do not possess.
404 @ MacroPolo:
compared to NZ or England, even Australia.
403 @ MacroPolo:
You are really just proving my point as to how he can’t seem to do no wrong in people’s eyes and is bullet proof.
I would rather have a coach that knows how to beat the All Blacks year in and year out, than one who can boast a win record over tired NH teams in June, but that just me.
I also bought into his hype and was willing to give him a chance, and I did, but sorry, what I’ve seen in these last three years are not enough for me to back his choices and game plan when it comes to predicting the winner in certain tests.
At least he makes it easy for punters, so predictable
@ nortie:
Heyneke has got 3 months to go to determine whether he goes from zero to hero.
Or gets a ticker tape parade around Garsfontein.
Or slums it in Stade Francais.
Let’s just wait and see.
@ nortie:
only in June? The only point I am making is that Meyer has been consistent, although unfortunately second best, and that deserves fair criticism, but those other guys got lambasted because of some very poor periods, and they had a few.
IAAS wrote:
Yep, I can predict the future as well….the team will receive a huge send off with Fikele shouting moer hulle Bokke all fire and brimstone.
Heyneke will be talking about character and how proud they will be making the country before the flight leaves etc.
But you are right, let’s wait and see, some will be holding their breaths, others will be chilled in the knowledge that anything further than the semi final will be a bonus
MacroPolo wrote:
Yes, some poor periods where they also experimented with the team, leaving our star players etc.
And you are right, they were lambasted and rightly so, yet when HM loses doing the same thing, he is still the darling and deemed as a savior
He is getting a very nice ride by the scribes and hardly cops any criticism for poor selections, coaching and game plan.
Would love to hear Nama’s take on yesterday’s game
@ MacroPolo:
Het jy die Craven Week gekyk gister?
@ nortie:
Jakes longest losing streak was 5 games from 24 Jun 2006 to 26 Aug 2006, and P divvie was 4 games from 10 Jul 2010 to 21 Aug 2010 and 4 more from 04 Dec 2010 to 13 Aug 2011… yeah right experimentation 😆
Meyers longest losing streak so far has been 2 games… touch wood.
Do not get me wrong, Meyer should get criticism for not wining the All Blacks, but there must be perspective on why those other guys got nailed by the public.
@ nortie:

Rugby raak regtig n ryk man sport.
@ MacroPolo:
@ nortie:
@ MacroPolo:
Yep, de Jongh is n yster
