117 @ Pietman:
Aaron Smith and Lima Sopoaga combine so well, it makes both of them doubly dangerous!
I’m glad for Sopoaga, he might just be in with a shot at a Wrold Cup squad place!
121 @ Ben-die-Bul:
Die amptelike “Transfer Window” is eers oop vanaf 1 Julie (Woensdag).
Ek dink ons gaan ‘n hele klompie bewegings sien.
Anybody know what time today Heyneke Meyer announces the Springbok Group?
Gmpffff Nick Mallett agrees with Craig Joubert’s Penalty try, so does Breytie….
Nick Mallet gave Craig all the kudos for making the right decision re the penalty try.
Mmmm, the whole TV Studio panel agrees fullheartedly…
hahaha
Nick Mallett reckons Craig Joubert is a world class ref.
Unlike some erstwhile kenners on this esteemed forum!
Mallett and the TV Studio panel also agrees on the Held / Not held in the tackle decisions of Phipps & Buckman by Craig Joubert too… interesting shit!!
@ grootblousmile:
@123 “Bewegings” van SWD na Tshwane, waarskynlik…

In all fairness, who wants to be a referee in one of these matches, tough job…

They were very up and down… I remember a very strong Highlanders team with Randell, Tony Brown , Byron Kelleher and the incomparable Josh Kronfeldt and Jeff Wilson once destroying a Stormers team under Corne Krige at Newlands.
IF I were Heyneke Meyer, I would call an immediate Bok camp for this coming week. There is plenty for him to work on. Things the franchise coaches didn’t. I’ve heard him say a couple of times – the players come to him with inferior skills and less conditioned than their NZ counterparts.
Seriously, what this country is crying out for – is a coaches academy, starting at schoolboy level. It is not as is we don’t have the players. A guy like Nick Mallett is wasted sitting in a TV studio.
@ robzim:
The Bucket Heads were always an entertaining team though, with fanatical support from the students down at Otago Uni, very Ikeys like One of with my favourite Kiwi sides.

@ Ben-die-Bul:
Heinke vd Merwe is n aangename verrassing!
Vier losskakels? Een sal moet uit…Morne?
@ Ben-die-Bul:
Interesting that HM must have resolved the Frans Steyn contract issue.
But for Flip to rule himself out in a WC year doesn’t make sense.
@ Pietman:
It’ll be a 18 – 13 split.
Of the 18 forwards, 9 must be front rows.
Expect utility backs to get the nod. So Morne Steyn could lose out to the likes of Pollard, Lambie and Elton.
@ IAAS:
Frans Steyn probably a utility then…? Because he WILL be there, no question about it.
@ Pietman:
HM wants him there. He can cover 10,12 and 15. Lambie can cover 10 and 15 and Pollard 10 and 12.
As we progress in the WC, it will depend on how strong the bench is.
Good on the Highlanders….I’ll be kinda cheering them on in the final.
Would like to see Jamie Joseph take it out being from Ngati Maniapoto the tribe and Ngati Kinohaku..subtrIbe..and my Grandfather’s marae…Waipatoto…
He’ll be the first Maori Coach to win it if it happens…. Rennie being Cook Island Maori…
@ Te Rangatira: Hi TR. I’d be with you there boet albeit not for the same reasons. I just like the Highlanders, their attitude, the way they play the game and all that beautiful stuff. Some of the finest players in the world in that team behind a no name brand pack of hardworking forwards. Should be an unbelievable final between two great teams. Canes will be favourites. Just. But I’ll be backing the Landers.
Enjoy.
