“Montpellier are set to announce the signatures of the du Plessis brothers this week as they look to recover from a disappointing season.
Saturday’s defeat to Stade Français ended Montpellier’s hopes of reaching the Top 14 play-offs, and they need a bonus-point win over Clermont next week to have any hope of making the Champions Cup play-offs.
As a result Jake White has embarked on an ambitious recruitment drive, with the Sharks pair Bismarck and Jannie du Plessis on their way according to RMC.
The move had already been rumoured earlier this season, when Fabien Galthié was still in charge, however the change of coach had put the move in doubt.
However it appears the brothers will stick with their decision to join the club despite interest from Toulon.
“Some big names will be announced in the coming days. To win the Top 14 you need the best players in the world,” said White after the loss in Paris.”
If the above is true, then how does that fit in with the “player revolt” that saw the Shark’s get rid of White because the senior players didn’t see eye to eye with him?
You don’t get more senior than the two Du Plessis’ in the Shark set up, yet they are now willing to play for him in France?

Maybe the only people that had a problem with Jake was John Smit and the Board because they would not go with his demands?

Possible, but JS ans White obviously got on well.
They went through a lot together as player and coach, and JS did the effort to get him to the Sharks.
It must have been something else that caused the split, and the players not getting along with White seems the most plausible

Yep, it swears in French

The public can put quite a lot of pressure on a board, who often shifts the blame in any industry… I guess we will never know, was the players not getting along with Jake an official reason?
