Both Rebels tries were spot on, what’s the hassle?
@ nortie:
Reguit soos n sekel! Goeie een Nortie, ek moet daai een onthou….

Under usual circumstances it shouldn’t be, but I doubt they will come back from this deficit today
60 @ Pietman:
Whether the Stormers win or not in Bloem, does not matter… Chiefs still won’t be pulling away from the Stormers.

And that’s a BIG IF!

The second wasn’t, contact made, accidental offside automatically should have been ruled.
66 @ nortie:
Rebels player was BEHIND his own man with the ball… can Never be offside or obstruction.
You can only obstruct with what is in front of you between the player with the ball and the defender.
When the player is behind, he is also never offside, you can only be offside if you are in front of the ball or in front of the offside line (ie. in front of the last man’s feet at a ruck).

Keep the updates coming, please, signal gone here!
Chiefs relieving penalty
@ grootblousmile:
He ran into his own player when he broke, that player was between the ball carrier and the intended tackler.
To me, that is obstruction.
I’m sure that if the Chiefs were the team who scored like that today, the ruling would have been different.
Be that as it may, the Chiefs are going to lose today, so it won’t really matter
70 @ nortie:
His own man was next to him and slightly behind him when he bumped him… so in my mind never obstruction.
In addition the defender was never in a position to tackle the man with the ball anyway.

Still a scrum for “accidental offside” according to the letter of the law?
Daai langhaar van die Rebels tekkel n bsrshou…
72 @ nortie:
How can you be offside, whether accidental or deliberately, if you are behind the line of the ball AND it was not a ruck where the last feet rule applies?
Chiefs missing Cruden and Retallic, similar to the Landers without the two Smiths
74 @ grootblousmile:
How often do we see refs blowing a scrum when one player runs into his team mate?
73 @ Pietman:
Ja, hy is besig, die takhaar!
76 @ nortie:
If the player is IN FRONT of the ball carrier and the ball carrier runs into him…. then yip, offside, whether accidental or deliberate.
This was not the case.
I’m not saying that the Rebels don’t deserve to win here, the Chiefs are terrible on attack and the Rebels are strong on defense, but, it doesn’t change the fact that the Chiefs are being scrutinized more severely than the home team
Try Chiefs, Ngatai!!
Rebels 16 / 10 Chiefs
Fark, totally lost contact… bloody web hosts fucked around for a while!
Final Score: Melbourne Rebels (16) 16 / 15 (3) Chiefs
