The Stormers seem to have 2 gameplans… plan 1 is a ball in the hand (structured attacking) plan that is proven losing plan while plan 2 is a plan based on kicking for territory, mauling drives from lineouts, great defence and counterattacks from turnovers or mistakes by the other team. Plan 2 is a proven winning plan.
Hopefully they will follow gameplan 2 today…. this plan works better if the opposing team is running at them like the Tahs did last week. It is unlikely that the Force will be so naive though and they will probably also kick a lot.
Therefore it is quite likely that today’s game might turn out in a kicking contest between Catrakilis and Ebersohn. Catrakilis should win this battle especially if his forwards gain the upper hand as expected. The game might then open up in the last 20 minutes or so.
Stormers by 9 – 12.
Afternoon sports fans! I am working but will be checking the feed constantly. Thanks for keeping me updated.
C’mon Stormers … becalm the Force
Stormers must just find a way to tough it out.
Forget even trying to get 4 tries, win by one penalty if you must.
Just get away with the 4 log points and get on the plane
Go Stormers, we really need this one!
Lets just hope Schreuder is not as pedestrian tonight as he has been lately.
Great start by vWyk
Game ON!
@ robzim:He needs to catch first!
Penalty Stormers, easy one at goal!
Stormers 3 / 0 Force
Force penalty, a longish one… Luke Burton for goal
Dubious penalty that
Stormers 3 / 3 Force
Stormers right on the Force line, under the sticks… and they get the penalty under the sticks… and opt to scrum!!
Stormers looking strong
Cynical play….you see refs card players in the NH for conceding penalties in that position, without first giving team warnings.
Sam Cane was also carded yesterday against the Crusaders in a similar position
Wow, now thats scrumming at its very best
Penalty Try, Stormers… off a strong scrum
Well done, good scrum once again.
No one can accuse our pack of being “powder puff” in 2015
Stormers 10 / 3 Force
Stormers penalty, holding on… it’s on their own 10m line
Arghhh, Kobus van Wyk already through the gap, as Schalla pops a pass to him… and he cannot catch the freegin ball!!
I remember a few on here really slating our props a couple of years ago – especially the ‘baby-faced ninja’ – Stormers front row one of the most formidable in the competition now.
24 @ Just For Kicks:
Yeah, we all thought the Stormers Tight 5 was a Light 5… and that WAS the case a few years ago… but they’ve done sterling work in the meantime…
Schalla’s going to have to insure those hands of his soon, they’re becoming a rare fashion item in the ball passing world in SA! His passing has become a major part of his game now – the rest of the team is having to catch up with his slight of hand!
@ grootblousmile:Apart from the players themselves, the forwards coach deserves a lot of credit, thats for sure
27 @ Just For Kicks:
For sure… no doubt about it whatsoever!
Stormers just need to keep it simple here, they’ve got the power to get over the gain line every time.
Sam Wykes off injured… he is a goner!
Skiet hom, moenie dat hy ly nie!
