The Vodacom Bulls will get a number of Springboks back this week, but there is growing concern over the knee injury of veteran lock Victor Matfield.
Matfield will only know on Tuesday when he will play again.
He was originally listed as being ‘rested’ for the encounter with the Lions last week, but it has since emerged that the knee injury was the real problem.
It appears to be a major concern for the Bulls management.
The lock, who has a meniscal knee strain, will see knee specialist Dr Daan du Plessis to determine how long he will be out of action.

@ Nama:
Absolutely correct.Apologies.Rye
@ Victoriabok:
Yes, you have to play the youngsters but ideally only after they played at least 2 seasons of senior rugby so that you can see if they can make the step up from junior rugby. We can agree on that.
@ ryecatcher:
Apology accepted.
The Coleman comment though…makes me wonder if I misjudged your character. In any case…
@ Nama:
Misjudged my character. How exactly.???Must we always
pussy foot around issues.Judging by your over the top and over sensitive response, perhaps I misjudged yours.I think that Coleman is a far better player than EL Greco.
We could go on and on in an argument that is ultimately
circular. What kind of response is “I accept your apology BUT”
You either accept it unconditionally or not at all.
Like you,I am now disappointed.

Not so at all.
@ gunther:
Take it from whence it comes.
@ ryecatcher:
dont worry rye, the only players that trully deserves to be springboks play their provincial rugby in blue and white hoops, everyone else has to continuously prove themselves 😆
Here’s (part of) the problem:
“…the management are the ones who have accepted the responsibility and are doing what they can to protect the players…”
“Sharks wing Odwa Ndungane has said that the management and coaches at Kings Park have stepped up to shoulder the blame, and responsibility, in an effort to allow the team to play its natural game.
“I think the management is taking a lot of that pressure off the players, which is good.” Ndungane said after training.
“The guys do not feel as under the cosh as they could…”

A mollycoddled, self-indulgent attitude without any internal locus of control is all I see …
Everyone, including the players, especially the senior players, especially the red-carded senior team leaders should accept responsibility & DO something to REDEEM themselves …
They can’t just remain in a comfort zone – no pain, no gain, nuh?
