It’s PUB NIGHT again…
The heading suggests we talk about music and not about the weekend’s rugby, unless you’re a Stormer or a Lion of course… hehehe
Notwithstanding the rugby results, I think we can say that it was a good rugby weekend anyway!
The Stormers are back in the lead in the SA Conference, the Bulls only 1 Log Point behind them and the Lions are knocking hard on the door for the play-offs.
One derby saw marvelous running rugby in a fast-paced game, the other a quality and hard-fought battle between old foes. Good on Ya all!
This next weekend, Super Rugby will continue, 2 games on Friday and 5 games on Saturday.
I guess this makes for a few good discussions!
It is time to straddle a bar stool and order a drink or 2.
Let’s focus on the PUB tonight…. the idea with PUB NIGHT is to lighten up our dull Tuesday evenings with music, comedy and fun.
Rugby takes a backseat tonight as the clan and fellow rugby nutters gather and wheel in their old friends…
Read the rules below carefully, or you WILL get burnt!
Just for clarity sake, when someone does not adhere to the Rules of the PUB, EVERYBODY jumps on them and pummels them, right… understood?
Here’s how it works:
- Before you are allowed to greet, comment or take part in general discussion about anything else, you enter the PUB with a lekker Music Video found on Youtube.
- You copy the URL (web address) of the clip… and you make sure it is NOT the Mobile version of the URL (the Mobile version has a solitary “m” in the beginnig of the URL… just replace the “m” with “www” if there is a solitary “m” somewhere).
- Sometimes you have to replace the “http” part with “https” too… but we do not take excuses, we will pummel you anyway!
- You Paste the URL into the Comment Form Box of this Article and you SUBMIT your comment.
- Your video will appear in the Comments section.
- If you fail with your attempt and it does not appear, we WILL kak you out, we will pummel you with insults… and LAUGH at you, you silly muppit!
- Once you have a successful Video loaded, you can take part in the discussion and add more music, but beware, every broken link will cop you an “Uitkak” and a laugh at your expense.
- Failure to abide by the rules, will be punished by requiring you to say a seriously denigrating thing about the Provincial / Club side you support and asking all of us, by name, for forgiveness and acknowledging our clear superiority.
- Most important rule: Nobody is allowed to get angry… this is all in good fun!
Fire away!
Today, our FIRST VIDEO will be this one, here it is! Maybe apt for the Bulls loss!

Not long since I since I stumbled across this Albert de Wet, think he is really good. Have you met him at any of those music awards nights you go to, saw he is from the Jakaranda city?
38 @ Owen Meany:
Hi Owen Meany that is a good one

42 @ Bullscot:
He’s a friend of ours… if you look amongst my photos on Facebook, you’ll see us sitting around a table chatting with him… it’s one where I have a black leather jacket on and Handbriekie who sits next to me has a light brown jacket on… he sits opposite and has a tracksuit jacket on.
He makes great music!

Hi robzim Jack Johnson’s stuff is good. Did you see the story about the Algerian football league with 16 teams in it, they have 4 rounds of games left in the season and any of the 16 could still win it mathematically as 11 points separates first from last?
Bullscot,
Here’s a pic of myself and Handbriekie chatting to Albert de Wet.
Nice chap, excellent music!
@ Bullscot:
Hi, Jack is also one of my favourites, professional surfer making it big in music… stuff one can only dream of 🙂
I have not seen the story re the football league..do you have a link?
Folks, I’m outa here… enjoy the rest of the PUB!
52 @ grootblousmile:
That’s brilliant where was that? Just happened to come up on Youtube while I was going through some other SA artists music and I had a listen, never heard him before so was pleasantly surprised.
53 @ robzim:
Yes it’s really close this year I had a link yesterday when I read about it , here is a different link to the story:

56 @ Bullscot:
Was at a birthday party of another friend in the Music Industry, Barry Pretorius, who is the Executive Producer of Afrikaans Is Groot and also the Ghoema Afrikaans Music Awards.
Albert is a brilliant Afrikaans Rocker, and has the most amazing song-writing skills. I can safely say he is one of the music artists who has stayed humble and true to his original nature, so often these artists get tainted when they get more and more known.
58 @ grootblousmile:
That is good to hear, I certainly enjoyed the quality of the handful of songs I listened to, music wise they were good, the English song lyrics seemed more relaxed and relaying less of a message than the Afrikaans ones. There was one about Aliwal that I wasn’t sure about as not aware what it was about.
Greg Peterson – 2.04m and 122kg (lock), Sam Johnson – 1.84 and 102 kg (centre) – both big players. Johnson is a similar height and 5 or so kg heavier than Scotland centre Matt Scott, same weight but 6cm shorter than next season’s team mate at Glasgow Alex Dunbar.
