Kees Lensing

Kees Lensing

Former Vodacom Bulls prop and Namibian captain, Kees Lensing, has signed a 2 year contract to become a scrum coach to a leading Japanese club.

Lensing, who has been helping out at the Tuks Academy since retiring as a rugby player, will head abroad to become the scrum coach for Japanese club Canon Eagles in Tokyo.

Canon play in the Japanese top league and have enlisted Lensing as the 1st step to trying to win their league. The club is also likely to target a number of Springboks to join them after the Rugby World Cup.

The club hasn’t got as many foreigners as other clubs in Japan, but do have notables Adam Thomson (now with the Reds), Callum Bruce and Karl Lowe in their ranks.

Lensing played for both the Bulls and Sharks in his time in South Africa and also for Castres in the French Top 14.
