After 20 overs Proteas were 55 runs behind D/L (moving) target
The de Kock experiment is going to cost us this tournament. If we lose here it doesn’t matter what they do next in terms of team selection.
@ McLook:
It’s not an experiment….they have stats to back up his sterling career as an opener 😆
However, in 2019 when the next WC comes around, and they only work on WC stats, I think he won’t be going
Proteas 128 / 6 after 22 overs

Id say he hasnt been in the best of form. Clearly not. But it was a tough one earlynin the innings today…
Whys he getting all the blame for our inability to chase though? Makes no sense

De Kock is not an experiment … he is a proven ODI opener that was ranked #10 ODI batsman in the world at the commencement of the CWC
2nd Half ON!
Redelinhuys knocks… wat soek hy op senter!!

By those standards and against top teams it looks like we will sit 2019 out.
155 @ MacroBull:
Not his fault we can’t chase, he is consistent, out cheaply whether we bat first or chase.
Just think if he only came in now, with AB there, and plenty of overs left…..
That’s where he should be batting.
As it is now, we are practically 1 down without even getting out of the starter blocks
Forward pass by the Blues
Lions scrum penalty against the Blues loosehead
Eish, not kicked out…. man maar dis ‘n sonde!
159 @ MacroBull:
You can try and defend his form, or lack thereof, with the bat all you want….but the rest of the world can see the that he is a passenger and liability as an opener in this WC.
All of the top 6 have scored 100’s and 50’s except for one opener.
Skew into the lineout.
Mealamu off, subbed in his record breaking game… the most capped Super Rugby player ever
Proteas 138 / 7 after 24 overs… as another wicket tumbles
94 needed for the win
This is ridiculous – the Proteas need someone (anyone, not just de Kock) to stay with AB – the target is gettable for AB with normal batting, but who will keep up an end with AB?
Lions penalty, interference with the scrumhalf at the ruck… shot at goal
Boys will be thirsty after the game….time for an ice cold drink

Blues 10 / 6 Lions
Blues penalty, quick tap…
Would love to see Skop’s take on this skittlesticks debacle
Another Blues penalty, 5m out… quick tap AGAIN
Over the line, held up
Reset scrum
The Blues only lead by 4, yet shun an easy 3 points.
They must be the only team in the comp who play dumber rugby than the Lions
If rugby knowledge and winning tactics was a measurable IQ, this game would NOT be considered a Mensa showpiece
Blues scrum penalty against Redelinghuys
Blues over yet again, held up… under the sticks
Ek moet seker maar nog ‘n Kameeltjie doen…
Blues knock, 50cm from the line… if that much
@ MacroBull:
That might be correct but he has not fired so far in this tournament. How many changes does he need at cost of the team. This was/is a crucial match. I would have dropped him and added another bouler. At this stage it is an experiment. Hoping he will find form in a high pressure match.
