To come away with 4 points is an excellent start for the Canes…especially away from home. Considering Wellington were hopeless in the ITM cup, the Canes are lucky to have Hawkes Bay and Taranaki in their catchment area.
I expect them to finish mid table however cos their tight five are average.
The Lions…I don’t know too much about them but we’ll probably see them take some big scalps when they play their derby games….as is the nature of the SA Conference.

    @ Angostura:
“The coaches/captain will soon lose their tactical naiveté & then the Lions will improve.”

One would think, but they play the way they believe their supporters want to see them play. Even in the CC final last year they ran from their own 22 with the wrong results.

When I say quality opposition I mean every SR team compared to the teams that played in the CC.

They could easily shun points and score tries from all over against the Pumas, Kings, Sharks, Bulls and Cheetahs ( CC sides), but to think you can carry on in the SR where you left off in the previous year’s CC is not very bright IMO.

    Bring back the home refs

    @ nortie:
Also remember that last year they were praised for their “ball in hand” approach and barely scored more tries than the bulls.

Congrats the the titans for beating the cobras. Set up by 134 runs from albie morkel. Man i may not have allegiance to any provincial cricket team but im a big albie fan.

    @ nortie:
Ja nee kyk. Sal n skande wees as die bulle vandag verloor.

Cobras lost the game allowing the titans to score 289 runs for 5 after having them 60 for 4.

For years ive been playing with the theory that there is a link between the proteas choking in finals and the amount of pw players in the team.

Hi MacroBull good news there, am unamshamedly a Titans fan. Nice big score there from Albie Morkel, at first glance you would think it is a shame he not with the Proteas in AusZealand, but for him me he is one of those players who is so destructive on his day with the bat and you feel should have done much better at international level but just doesn’t seem to have grabbed the various chances he was given at international level.

WOW New Zealand are on a role beating Sri Lanka in the first World Cup game by far. NZ 331/6 SL 233 all out! New Zealand got over 300 in their warm up game against Proteas as well.

Australia 240/5 after 40 overs 4 balls against England, should get a big score

    😆
    Looks at the scoreboard…..
2 driee?

Finch top scored for Aus – run out for 135 off 128 balls, next best score was 55 from Bailey

  • 256

Aus 250/5 after 42, come on England!
