Depends on who bats second Macro….if England got 300, do you think NZ wouldn’t have gotten there?
They knocked 120 odd in 11 overs or something.
Let’s see how our chase goes, if we are bowled out for 280-290 odd, then yes, 300 batting first is par.
I believe we can chase 300, because I’m sure we would have scored more than 300 batting first as well.
The days of Boycott and co scoring 220 after 60 overs is long gone…..teams score 300-400 much easier these days

Not saying we cant chase 308. But scoreboard pressure at the world cup is enormous.
After where india were after 30 overs and with a bowler short. The way we pulled it back will definitely give us momentum goinv into this innings. I think we are favorites on betting sights at this stage.
If we win it will be the highest run chase at the mcg since england 4 years ago (297 runs).

Hey bullscot. Both groups. I didnt select all games where there was routes… Like england vs nz. Though todays game between afghan and sri will drop the average slightly.
Only ‘tuned in’ with internet scores when India were 240 something for 2 the wickets helped peg things back a bit as at one stage thought they would get around 320.
What happened to Philander? Why didn’t Duminy bowl 10 overs? Parnell got wickets but going for over 9 an over almost conceded a third of the score on his own. If Duminy wasn’t injured think this was poor captaincy.

Hi MacroBull ok that explains, didn’t see the low first innings scores against New Zealand so thought it wasn’t their group. They only beat Scotland by 3 wickets but romped home against England, we play England tomorrow I think…
De Kock needs to keep his head here. We don’t need to score the runs in 20 overs. We have 50 overs to do it.

Its just a run a ball score. India got there scoring 36 in the first ten then at a run a ball for 25 overs… Dont need to be aggressive at all

We just need to play clever here. De Kock has the ability to accelerate. He needs to be calm for the 1st 5 overs at least. Seems as if Amla’s talking to him after the 1st over helped a bit. He is more circumspect now. Not trying to hit every ball to the boundary.

#206 I have an attacking go for it cricket in philosophy and besides its less stressful to see your team cruising to a win than scraping home even if we can do with practice on closing out tight games.
