The Crusaders appear set to be without Willi Heinz for the Super Rugby season after the scrumhalf fractured his leg in a trial against the Highlanders on Saturday.
Last year’s beaten finallists fell 29-26 in Timaru, however the scoreboard will be of little concern to Todd Blackadder’s troops, whose depth will to be tested ahead of their season-opening clash against the Rebels on 14 February.
The news got even for worse for the Crusaders with new midfield recruit, 24-year-old Jone Macilai leaving the field with a suspected broken arm.
The perils of these warm up games……makes me wonder if it really adds any value at all to play competitive games against competitive opposition prior to a tournament that lasts for so many months
Such a good knock by miller considering not many people expect us to get over200without ab or amla

You mean, you don’t expect the Proteas to get over 200 if Hash and AB fail.
AB and and Amla can not make runs, but they can not fail
@ IAAS:
No its not like that it was a trend on international forums because of our dependance on amla and ab…
Excuse the fact that there is no Cricket thread on it’s own today.. the young man who we have taken into our house whilst his mother is in hospice has needed our support as do the rest of their family, the family’s been called in as the mom is unfortunately on her last at Hospice.
Many people at Hospice now, including my wife Handbriekie and BonzaiHandbriekie, whilst I was busy jockeying stuff here at home, with all sorts happening here too… garden boy, pool cleaning, sorting some other stuff out too…
It’s hectic stuff people.. while you have the chance, be good to those you love… and tell them you do… and spend time with them…
It is raining cats and dogs here in the Panne… bucketing down… torrential rain.
Some super serious thunder and lightning around too…
Luckily only started 20 minutes or so ago, so we got done what we needed to do today…
@ grootblousmile:
Ja flok. Sit hier op OR Tambo met my finger.
8 @ MacroBull:
Was jy bietjie hier in Gauteng vir die naweek?
Hoekom kry jy nie laat jou goose afvlieg en maar daar onder by jou kom bly en werk nie?
Mens kan mossie soooooo vêr vry nie… eish!
@ grootblousmile:
Ha mar sacrifices. Was ook deben toe.
Closer ODI this one… and Windies could win it… could go either way.
Now I want to see GREAT Death Bowling by the likes of Abbott, Parnell & Morne Morkel.
We need to be able to close out the closer games!
A free hit at this stage from a seasoned veteran is unforgivable
Good effort from pangiso again. If he keeps this up he could be out fourth bowler in the world cup if needed
Windies staying right up there with the required run-rate at the moment…
58 Needed off 53 balls… just over run a ball required, 3 wickets in hand…
At last a match where our bowlers will be tested at the death.
Lets see what stuff Abbott and Parnell are made off.
If the Blomme can pick up the wicket of Russell… then they would be in control again… whilst he is there, anything could happen.
15 @ Nama:
Yip… my thoughts too
Run a ball now needed… OK, just, just more…
Wickettt!
Holder gone!
Lucky wicket off a full toss by Duminy…
Bad ball…great catch.
That’s it for the Windies. Can’t see them scoring the remaining runs.
20 @ Nama:
Brathwaite is no mug with the bat… and Russell is still the dangerman…
Couple of great balls by Phangiso… great stuff!
OK, let’s see how Abbott goes…
Lekker stuff from Abbott too!
Then a 6 by Brathwaite… straight down the ground… bad ball by Abbott
Good Abbott over, bar the one ball which went for 6.
36 runs needed from 30 balls with 2 wickets in hand.
Abbott reverse swinging the ball.
It’s on…
If the Blomme could take Russell’s wicket… come on, you are keeping the Windies in the game…
Morkel is hit over his head for a big 6 by Russel.
Great yorker, Morkel.
