Wing Jamba Ulengo hopes to make a big impact for the Bulls this season.
A move to Pretoria in July last year emphasised the 25-year-old’s rise in the South African rugby ranks.
After emerging as a notable rugby talent at Jim Fouche in Bloemfontein, he represented Free State at Under 16, Under 18, Under 19 and Under 21 levels and impressed in Shimlas colours during the Varsity Cup.
His impressive attacking qualities saw him receive a Springbok Sevens call-up in 2012. He played for the Blitzbokke in 11 tournaments before deciding to sign with the Bulls, which he describes as an exciting new chapter in his career.

“The move to the Bulls is a big opportunity for me to express myself and to showcase my talent,” Ulengo said. “It’s a great chance for me to see how far I can really go with my rugby.”
Born and bred in Bloemfontein, Ulengo said he’s already settled in quite nicely in Pretoria.
“Life in Pretoria isn’t much different compared to Bloemfontein,” he explained. “It’s all about how one fits in and adapts to your surroundings. I’ve made friends with many of the younger players, while I learn a lot from the likes of Bandise Maku and Akona Ndungane. Their experience and advice is invaluable.”
The Bulls enjoyed two-week break over the festive season, but Ulengo decided to continue training during this time to ensure he’s in good shape for the 2015 season.
“We had a bit of a break and I visited my family over Christmas, but I continued training. I want to prove myself this year,” Ulengo said. “I hope to earn my opportunities during Super Rugby this season. I want to perform well, make a valuable contribution and play the best rugby I can. If I can achieve this, I believe more opportunities will come my way.”
While Ulengo is focused on performing on the field, he’s keeping himself busy off it too. He’s busy studying marketing through UNISA, which will set the platform for life after rugby.
“The degree will definitely support me after rugby. I’d love to start my own business one day. I see myself going into transport, although I also want to explore my options in other companies.”
It would be marvelous if Jamba could ramba for us in 2015.
Bulls are one Winger short, so if he comes through nicely, it would alleviate that situation.
Hoe goed is hy?

@ smallies:
He will probably land up like that Kenyan who the Bulls and Sharks so over hyped.
@ Loosehead:
I share your suspicions.
8 @ Loosehead:
Now playing NFL.
@ Scrumdown:
I’ve tried following him, he played two games, without recording any stats at all and he got injured in the latest pre-season where they waived his contract, meaning he is available to be drafted, but no one seems to have picked him up, if he isn’t picked up he will go to the backup to the squad injury reserve list.

Farkit Barend, dink jy regtig so?
Met daai domfok Frans in beheer?
On the plus side…….Tony Jantjes won’t have the kakkest hairstyle at the Bulls anymore
@ nortie:
Is Tony nie Kings toe nie?
Some info for the T20 fans:
As far as I recall, we haven’t had any rain (worth mentioning) in Durban since last Wednesday morning;
However, it is currently moderately hot, humid, overcast & now raining in Durban … If the match does proceed this evening (which I think it will) the atmospherics could be conducive to swing bowling early on …
Pump the Jamba..
Nortie, that is a killer hairstyle, Nortie.
Jonathan “I’m two chirps short of a nervous breakdown” Trott is on 211 n/o playing for England Lions against SA A in Paarl.

Bafana just scored their 3rd goal in a friendly against Mali to lead 3-0.
Now for the Proteas to beat the Windies and make it 2/2 for Mzanzi.
Windies to chase yet again. Maybe it will work in our favour this time around as the ball usually does a lot more in the evening during the 2nd stanza.
David Miller out with a stiff back…Duminy in.
Protea team:
1. Morne van Wyk
2. Hendricks
3. Rossouw
4. Duminy
5. Ontong (c)

Strange that they don’t play Tahir on his home ground.
@ Nama:
Evening namaskotia
We need someone to come off BIG time to post a competitive score here. Fielding at night is usually a nightmare in durban isnt it.
SA bat. One run from the 1st over.
@ MacroBull:
It did rain around midday. If their are still clouds around, the dew factor would be less, I believe.
Much better 2nd over. 16 runs from it.
17/0
@ Nama:
If their are still clouds around…
…should be “there”
17 runs from the 4th over.
