Jerry Yanuyanutawa says the Warriors will face a highly motivated Montpellier team in Sunday’s European Rugby Champions Cup match at Scotstoun.
The French side have lost all four of their Cup matches so far, but those defeats were sustained while Fabien Galthie was in charge. Galthie was replaced by Jake White at the end of last month, and the South African put down his marker by guiding them to a 16-12 victory over European champions Toulon in his very first game.
Jerry’s knowledge of the coach is based on their season together with the ACT Brumbies in Australia and he is convinced that White is a formidable and inspirational character.

Jerry said: “I was there for a year when Jake was there. I would say that Jake is a very calculating coach, very smart, always a forward planner. Coming here, he won’t have the French mentality. He will be wanting to come here to get a victory.
“Jake took over and brought through a young group. Everyone thought that we would finish bottom of the super Rugby table, but we ended up finishing in the middle. The year after, we played in the final, and that’s all due to Jake White bringing players through.
“When I was under Jake, I found that he made the group believe in themselves. That year, everyone wrote us off, but he came in as a good planer and a good manager and he knew how to get the job done.
“Jake is a good in finding motivations for players. I wouldn’t be surprised if he finds something to get the French boys up. I know everyone will probably be talking them down, and that they’ll throw this away, but knowing Jake White he’s not that kind of coach.”

Good attacking position for Dragons but they give away a penalty deep in Newcastle territory nice flowing end to end stuff so far in this game

We’re not getting much LIVE rugby today, at the moment they are showing Highlites of the Leicester / Scarlets game, then they will show Saracens vs Munster (also just Highlites) and only at 21:40 SA Time tonight they will show the Live game between Harlequins and Wasps.
Tomorrow there is some good live action though, with Glasgow vs Jake’s Montpellier at 15:00 SA Time, followed by Toulouse vs Bath at 17:10 SA Time and then followed by Ospreys vs Saints at 19:25 SA Time.
Goooooooooo Glasgow, moer Jake’s boys sommer stukkend!

Been a few tries more for Dragons who are running away with things… BONUS POINT TRY being looked at as Amos did well to dot down under the attention of a few defenders – GIVEN
Great conversion from near the touchline

Good man finally supporting Glasgow This Newcastle/Dragons game is a nice open one with Dragons well on top, Landman playing quite well. Must go out for a walk soon.
Landman runs well and scores under the posts but they are checking for a possible forward pass to him
Not the best angle on that one but from the shape of the passers hands it looked a bit forward to me
Try given to Landman, Morgan did well on his way to the ground after being tackled to pop the pass to Landman who was on hand and ran about 20m to score, as I said it may have been marginally forward but with Dragons on top they are getting the luck as well, as one of their earlier tries was given to them as a penalty try – they threw the ball skew into lineout which the ref or linesman didn’t pick up then did a good maul and not long after it stopped going forward ref was very quick to blow for a penalty try against a Newcastle player – think it was for going offside at the maul

Sorry there is too much going on this game didn’t get to finish my comment to you, glad you getting to see the Glasgow game, be interested to read your views after the game, will be at work so am missing out. Josh Strauss has been playing well most games, for Montpellier will be keen to hear how Olivier and Ebersohn do at centre – hopefully they don’t do well at all. Also keep an eye out for my favourite player “Magic” Matawalu at scrumhalf, a real livewire.

Well, in a choice between anybody and Jake White… anybody WILL get my support!

TRY NEWCASTLE! Been playing with urgency and most of the possession so far in 2nd half, think it was Harris picked up a little grubber kick that bounced up nicely for him and went over in left corner
