Bismarck and Jannie du Plessis as well as Duane Vermeulen will further their careers in France after this year’s Rugby World Cup, respected French rugby newspaper Midi Olympique has revealed.
According to the newspaper, the official announcement regarding Vermeulen will only be made in July.

It was earlier reported that English club Bath were prepared to dish out £450 000 (about R7.8m) per season for Vermeulen’s services, but according to British media reports, Bath have pulled out of the race to sign the Springbok hard-man.
Vermeulen, 28, was last week named Stormers captain for the upcoming Super Rugby season after Jean de Villiers was sidelined with a severe knee injury.
Midi Olympique also links the Du Plessis brothers with a move to Montpellier, who are currently coached by former Springbok coach Jake White.
The Springbok trio would join their new clubs at the conclusion of the World Cup, which runs from 18 September to 31 October.
It was always going to be on the cards for the Du Plessis brothers to move north after the Rugby World Cup.
I have no problem with that…
As far as Duane is concerned, it is clear that he is in high demand accross the world… but Midi Olympique has speculated and pulled a lot of rumours right from their arses, which never materialized. It will be a massive pity if Duane moves north as well… looks like we are sure to see a massive exodus in SA as well after the Rugby World Cup.

I think they all will go somewhere, however I find it extremely unlikely that the Dup brothers will follow Jake.
2 @ MacroBull:
I see the latest is that Montpellier’s president has denied the Du Plessis rumours.
The French papers, including Midi Olympique and L’Equipe talk such a lot of kak, all the time… if they tell you the sun is shining, rather go look yourself, because they could just be lying through their teeth!
Same with some of the journos here in SA… some you can trust, some I would not believe even if my life depended on it…. some of the HSM knobbies come to mind!
@ grootblousmile:
I dont take much faith in the rumours where they are going as of now, but it would take something enormous to keep the Dup brothers here in SA after the RWC.
4 @ MacroBull:
That’s whay i said what I did in Comment No 1.
If we throw in a few Steers burgers can Jannie go before the RWC?
Pity about the other two but to be expected
Who do you think are the most likely Springboks to get injured and in so doing miss a large part of the season if not also the World Cup?
Frans Malherbe
Coenie Oosthuizen
Jannie du Plessis
Beast Mtawarira
Flo Louw
Willem Alberts
Pat Lambie
Eben Etzebeth
Pieter-Steph du Toit
Handré Pollard

I agree GBS
I added some and the reason why
Bismarck (overplayed)
Duane (overplayed)
Eben (overplayed)
Willie (overplayed)
Arno (being played to hard to soon)
Spies (any form of contact) please? 🙁
Man-van-glas Goosen (watching rugby on tv)
8 @ Victoriabok:
I have Eben in the list.
Bismarck… I’m hoping the Sharks operate with better player rotation in 2015 compared to what the pons, Jake White, did. Kyle Cooper is a very good hooker and the sharks have good depth in the front row positions.
Duane… he’s a toughy and the Stormers have excellent loosies for Super Rugby… maybe because of that he lasts. We need Duane for the World Cup, more than most players. He is critical to World Cup success.
Willie… I am more worried that the world have worked him out well and that his surprise factor won’t be as big in 2015 compared to 2014.
Arno Botha… I did not place him in the list because I think he’ll have a battle royal just getting into the Springboks again and I doubt he’ll make the World Cup Squad.
Spies… he’s no longer a serious contender, and should not be, not with his obvious frailties.
Johan Goosen… man van glas. Jeez, ek won’t even let him play for my Club side, he won’t last 4 straight games.
@ grootblousmile:
I know, I added Eben because AC will overplay him like he did with Andries “toemaar ons kan op hierdie parkbankie spyker niemand sal al twee meter van my herken nie” Bekker

We have lost so many players to Europe and Japan
Boks, good Super rugby players, CC players, up and coming youngsters, veterans on their last legs, it seems they’ll take anyone
They even took players we wanted to get rid of like Ross
Now I want to ask with tears in my navy blue eyes, how did useless Spies manage not to get a overseas contract?

I think he’ll be in the team post WC
If his knee holds up
It seems as if the new generation of talented players like Arno, PSDT, Eben, Goosen etc. get injured a lot more and for longer than their predecessors
Back on topic – I read the boss dude at the French cub categorically denied the rumors of the brothers coming over
