    @ Angostura:
I agree with your team, except I would have Morne there and also leave the door open for Mapoe

The flanker, Uzair Cassiem, who originates from the W-Cape, but plays for the Pumas has a surname that could originally have been Indian, Pakistani or from some other Asian geographical area. On appearance he looks as though he could be Indian or of mixed race.

Some of the Coloured folk here in KZN also have Indian blood flowing in their veins, & I wouldn’t be surprised if some of such play rugby, especially if they attend schools of a rugby culture. Some pockets of the Eastern Cape are also like that. And of course rugby is a much more broadly played & supported sport in the E-Cape than in KZN.

Be that as it may, I doubt Uzair Cassiem is pure Indian – not that it matters.

    OK, ciao out.

It’s just strange that there are so few or none with all the good rugby schools in KZN

So maybe there has been a new transormation plan drafted since July 2014. There is some good things in there though that could lead to success in the next 15-20 years.

You might indeed find some talent

But they may also force you to play Jantjies instead of Lambie or Pollard?

Or Oupa instead of Louw, Jaco Kriel or Marcell

    @ Victoriabok:
    Money…

Gosh black players are going to be a HOT commodity in the next two years.

That is why the Bulls have started moving in players from the Western/Eastern Cape from school already.

I think the Bulls had to dock a LOT of money for Marvin Orie, who the Lions desperately wanted.

    @ Victoriabok:
Yep it is those short term drawbacks that might end up killing the game… or at least the professionalism.

IF these unions are forced to play these expensive black players.

Could they just transform the teams into clubs in a seperate union? @ Victoriabok:
haha ek weet net hys speel slot

  • 639

    638…

Sorry ek wou my engelse post delete, want al stig die unies n privaat unie sal the regering net n wet maak waarby hulle moet by.

They should have privatised rugby, unions and SARU, like North American sports where you buy the franchise and the NBA, NFL and NHL are private businesses

They could have had a rich guy like Motsepe buy a franchise, and built an all Black team, much like Boudjellal did with Toulon

  • 641

    @ Victoriabok:
The difference is that there is no way the government would stand for that. They would make laws in parliament to either force the 50/50 law or ban “racist” institutes.

The only possible loophole would be to form a team in Europe, and import school players

  • 642

    @ MacroBok:
    import/export

Ironic when they are the ones focused on race

  • 644

    @ Victoriabok:
The most shocking thing is that The transformation plan is there to increase the black player base, at the expense of not only white but ALSO coloured players.

There was another pie chart (I dont know ehre these stats come from)

Coloured players will also be whittled down.

    @ MacroBok:

They don’t care about results or unintended consequences

    Only optics

Like with the 2010 World Cup, they had that tall white guy in the team, him and his family were in all the papers before the WC

But did he play one minute?

If our rugby gets so weak no-one watches anymore and the SANZAR money disappears?

If the IRB, sorry WR bans us because of their doing?

It’s still a win for them

ah now I understand where the 60% black african comes from… 60% of 50%

Hougie’s arm can qualify as 90% black with all the ink on it

He’s a generic scrumhalf, plays only 34% of the time

  • 649

    @ Victoriabok:
ok so hougie is 90% black of which he is 34 generic.

That qualifies for about 0.3% of our quota so far 😀

Farkit, how’s Ludeke going to understand it, who’s going to explain 7.5 players to him?

If you play your 7.5 black players plus Vetgat Frans Steyn at 1.5 player, will you be allowed to have only 14 players on the field? 😛

  • 651

    @ Victoriabok:
haha its the average… so in super rugby there are 16 games. He can choose to play 7 P’soC in the first 8 games and them he has to play 8 players of colour in the other 8 games.

The Kiwi and Aussie franchise coaches pick the best players in all positions

    And so do Hansen

And we wonder why we can’t beat the All Blacks?

    Yet

We pick the best players from Shady Pines retirement home, and the rest from Besige Bytjie Kleuterskool

And Hougie from “Crack Hoes ‘R us”

The Boks got their tactics right on the 2013 tour to the northern hemisphere, but then they were fortunate to have a host of experienced players at their disposal. Even when Fourie du Preez, the Boks’ chief tactician, was unavailable for the final tour match against France, Meyer had the option of selecting another experienced and tactically astute scrumhalf in Ruan Pienaar.

Never thought I’d say I miss Pienaar

Even at his most average he’s still better than Hougie

What about a player from another country like Kennedy Tsimba, would he qualify as a Black African?

Must he be a Black South African?

What about a Samoan player like Paul Perez?

    Generic Black by appearance?
