    Only problem is bad coaching.
Bad handling not being coached this year
and waiting, waiting for all the pieces to fall together

We never came near scoring a try, right?

Wales was on our line a few times.

Unfortunately I can only make this one post – we have guests. I’ll try and post something tomorrow
I agree with most of the comments but really Superbul @ 284: “at last we are relieved from mr nice guy” …. Is that the best you can say after such a horrendous injury ?
Do you really mean that ?

Have a good evening all. I know it sucks to lose !!

  • 303

    302 @ charlesm:
The injury Jean suffered certainly looked bad… and I would not be surprised if he misses the World Cup or retires due to this injury.

    Jean, get better soon, cappie!

Without Jean on the field there was absolutely no direction or captaincy to speak of… it was as if the heads all dropped and stayed down after Jean got injured.

I wish Jean a speedy recovery and I hope initial prognosis is much worse than it actually is.

Not nice to see our Bok captain go down like that!

I do not think South African supporters must over-react, as a result of this loss.

OK granted, it was not a good match at all by our beloved Springboks…

But there is time for players to show form, get form, recover… and time to fix things as a team, before the World Cup is upon us on 18 September 2015.

Motivation levels will be sky-high by the time the World Cup comes around!

  • 306

    @ Ben-die-Bok:
    Sharks?

    😎

  • 307

    Ben-die-shark sounds quite good.
Can’t wait to see your new name in print.

  • 308

306/307: ek belowe, as my span uitval, en as julle manne ophou choke en die finaal maak sal ek julle definitief ondersteun, ter wille van Bokmomentum ! Dan sal ek vir daardie tyd my naam verander na Ben-die-Shark !

    Approve

    3. jy is net so goed soos jou laaste wedstryd, jy moet elke game nuut begin.

  • 311

When HM started he said every Test is there to be won. Every test is important. Sadly the suporters who see some good in this must be dreaming. No All Black supporter will see any good in this.

  • 312

I’m not surprised by the result. The Bok this year have been to say it kindly…inconsistent. What really was their goal this year?..In my mind it was to beat the Abs… They did that and it seems that most of the other Tests were just peripheral in their minds…The coach has to take the blame in my opinion for focusing too much on his Ab hoodoo…Play each game as it comes…At this level the margins are too small and if you are missing that 5%of desire…then you are going to get done of the opposition want it more…
My feeling on has the gap closed with the SH…well yes it has…but if it wasn’t for the All blacks then it would be neck and neck…

  • 313

What can one say after a result like this except, well done Wales. They’ve been knocking at the door since 2010, as I pointed out last night. Losing by narrow nargins until their efforts were rewarded today. A kak game overall but a great result for Wales.

Afa the Boks are concerned: Daar wag werk.

When 5 Cheetah forwards are in the match 23, after their poor showing in SR, you also have to question the coach.

  • 314

    @ Te Rangatira:
We dont have a good game plan. Do we have one? And our team is not playing into a game plan, we fall around, not decisive in what we plan. And it all boils down to the sum off coaching staff. The combo is not great, not international quality.

  • 315

    @ Ben-die-Bul:
    Jou punt 4.

  • 316

    @ superBul:
I thought after the Ellis Park Ab Test that the Bok had finally got some things right with the way their attack went for certain periods of that game especially on the first half…then they trot off to the NH and have this perceived notion that this is our warmup for the WC… but the Irish stopped them in their tracks and from there they resorted back to their conservative game plan… this could be seen in the non selection of Pollard… who in my opinion should’ve started in all the Tests.

  • 317

    Te Rangatira wrote:

who in my opinion should’ve started in all the Tests

That would at least have given us a chance to get answers. Now we are totally confused.

  • 318

    @ superBul:
What game plan does HM prefer?
When he took on the job, the game plan was based on territory and kick and chase – pretty much the Bulls formula that had worked in the past.
When that didn’t work, we saw a ball in hand approach (copying the AB’s?). This followed popular opinion at the time. But, are the Boks really ready for this style of rugby? Few of our CC teams play this style except for Cheetahs and (lately) WP.
Today we saw a confused and disorientated team trying individual versions of both styles.

But, it all boils down to the type of possession gained by the forwards and this is where we came a poor second. We hardly ever had go forward ball so our backs were trying to make something out of scraps.
Bougaard didn’t help either. He was a poor substition. I can only think that HM was besotted by combinations. Reinach was playing well and should have stayed on.

I have made myself unpopular on this site by criticising the quality of some of the coaching staff but I maintain that we cannot carry ja-broers simply to keep HM popular with the Bulls union and/or SARU/ANC.

  • 319

    Bougaard and substitution.

    Stupid android.

  • 320

    Bugger. Hougaard.

  • 321

    @ superBul:
I get confused too… but I’ve spent 3 years trying to get to grips with Meyer’s strategies… or lack of…and I can’t work it out..

  • 322

    @ Te Rangatira:
    Join the club TR.
Unfortunately, in the parts, any criticism of HM is seen as herecy.

    😳

  • 323

    The = these.
I am becoming more like Puma by the day.

  • 324

So glad I only watched the last few minutes of this game, what I saw was utter shit in any case.

I enjoyed this snippet on News24 “And winger Cornal Hendricks was then shown a yellow card for taking out Halfpenny in the air, referee Lacey making his decision after seeing footage on the stadium’s giant screens.”

I’m sure no one is upset that he got sent off, seeing as showing footage on the big screen is the right thing to do

    Ain’t karma a bitch 😆

  • 325

    @ Charo:
When Jake had a poor 2006 EoYT the Bulls Union gave him a vote of no confidence and he had to fly back to SA before the second England test to convince them not to fire him.
What do you think the chances are that the Blue Bulls Union will do the same to HM?

  • 326

    @ nortie:
    Nortie,

Hardly comparable with the “incident” that you are referring to.
In today’s case, there was clearly no foul.
The oirish git farked up big time.
Pulled a Steve Walsh on the crowd.

  • 327

    @ Charo:
No different to the way we beat the AB’s in my book, once the footage is on the screen, the crowd reacts, and then the ref is swayed into making a decision he otherwise wouldn’t have.

  • 328

    @ nortie:
Rhetorical question of course – loaded with irony and innuendo.
HM has the freedom of Pretoria after his wonderful exploits in the S14.

  • 329

    @ nortie:
I think the ref was swayed by Leigh Halfpenny landing on his head and seemingly concussed.
The chance of injury influences refs.
The earlier clumsy attempt by Etsebeth could have warranted a yellow but Cornel was completely innocent.

  • 330

    @ superBul:
    Game plan?

The moment when Coetzee had the ball under one arm, saw the Welsh FH in front of him, his eyes got big and he decided: you little Welsh moer, I’m going to run you in your moer. Only to be stopped in his tracks.
THAT, my dear Sir, is our game plan.
