@ grootblousmile: my idea of a rest on a sunday is a lekker crack of dawn MTB ride up the Constantiaberg or a roadie from Bloubergstrand to Camps Bay and back with a VidaE coffee checking the passing talent. Just like we did yesterday. Was flippin lekker and the beer at Doodles afterwards slipped down like a fresh oyster. But then, like you, I also work on sundays.

@ grootblousmile: change to Mac. This little bugger is an absolute pleasure. But yes. The eyes take a pounding for sure. I read books. Plenty. I usually nail a freshly purchased book at ORT by arrival at Hong Kong. 13 hours. No problemo. Stuff the movies.

Have a friend sailing around the Barrier Reef as I write, on a 6 month cruise on his new 48 footer out of Sydney. Crap life or what? He invited me to wash the dishes but I can’t afford the travel. 😥

I hate Mac…
I understand why some industries, like Graphic Designers, use Mac, but Software availability and compatibility is generally just so much easier in the Microsoft environment.
And in my part of the IT Industry, PC’s are what rules the world, provides the money and provides the joy in the programming environment.
Anyway, Mac is farking ridiculously priced.

Yeah the sevens was on when I was there, but I went over to play a game with old mates from College…about 50 went over and the local tavern made a killing when we were there. Alcohol is so expensive in Oz. We usually order jugs and they were $16.00 a pop. The publican said he usually sells only 4 a week, as most just order pints….well he sold hundreds when we were there…lol…There are so many Kiwis there on the GC, but it’s not a place I’d like to live in…good for a holiday though….

The fact is that there are players who have been with a club all their lives and have been loyal throughout, yet when the time comes because of salary issues, younger players coming through etc, they are shown the door. That is just the business of professional sport. So if an employer can treat their sport as a business, why not the employee….Not that I see Sbw treating the sports he is involved in as purely a business opportunity…there is definitely a love of the challenge there…..
