    @ MacroBok:
Why assume I’m agreeing with them?
I made my feelings known right after the EP test, this piece I pasted earlier was published today.
If we had lost yesterday, I’m sure some of the blame would have been laid before the ref for as well.
Just always remember that if you cheered when the TV and crowd swayed Wayne Barnes into giving us a winning penalty, then don’t cry when it will happen against us next year in the WC when our home crowd and SuperSport team isn’t there to assist

  • 482

    @ nortie:
    Are you disagreeing with them?

I cheer for technology being used to get the right result… but the CROWD is big player, and if they can influence the ref wrongly he is weak and he should take any blame coming his way..

The only way to ever solve this is by banning home games, how popular would that be?

  • 483

Our biggest problem is that we don’t have 50 000 people there to “assist”

  • 484

    482 @ MacroBok:
No….I prefer to think that they are agreeing with me 😆

  • 485

    @ MacroBok:
So you still don’t acknowledge that a producer, who decides which clip to play on the big screen, doesn’t play a role in getting a crowd worked up?
The same way he can magically also fail to find that one clip that can show if a try has or hasn’t been scored if it would go against his team?

  • 486

    @ nortie:
They play clips between every break in play, usually from the pre occurring play (and in slow motion)… always.

“The same way he can magically also fail to find that one clip that can show if a try has or hasn’t been scored if it would go against his team?”

That happened in any of these instances?

  • 487

    @ MacroBok:
Remember when Australia lost to Argentina in the RC?

  • 488

    @ nortie:
I did not see that game, but I am aware there was in instance where Aus “believe” they scored a try but there was no evidence?

That is one case out of many?

(Do you remember when it happened? So i can try find a clip?)

How many tries are given by the TMO and referee wrongly without the influence of the TV Producer?

I can think of a few.

    Lions vs Highlanders
    The Pro Legoate Show

  • 489

oh and basically every game where Veldsman is involved in is bound to be controversial 😆

  • 490

Oh and that “Own try” in Australia a few months ago, or maybe the TV producer messed with the colour spectrum on the TMO’s screen?

  • 491

    @ MacroBok:
    Ha ha, poor Pro.
But to me it’s two separate issues…..when a ref by himself asks for the TMO when he sees something, that’s part of the game, and the technological assistance is welcome.
However, when a ref doesn’t have an issue during general play, and then, during a stoppage a producer plays an incident that gets the crowd going, which then causes the ref to make a decision that minutes earlier he had no inclination of making, well I’m not so sure I agree that is the way the game should go. My reasoning is simple, there are many cameras rolling at the same time, but only one’s images can be displayed at any given time. The producer/director is the one person who decides which angle or camera’s image must be shown at any given time, so in other words, 1 person can influence the outcome with the touch of a button or a simple order “cue camera7” , for example.
They can be selective in what to show during the break, and they can pick the very worst angle of a specific incident, and that way they can in fact sway a ref into making a decision he didn’t think was necessary

  • 492

And then you havent even scratched the surface of the influence of the home crowd that overwhelms all else.

    Hou op baklei Nortie 😆

  • 493

    @ nortie:
look if a TV producer can keep his eyes glued to numerous cameras for 80 minutes, just to spot something wrong from the opposing team I have to give it to them 🙂

Breaks are also immideately followed by replays… that happens all the time. Look it is something different if the replay immediately shows something that happened 20 meters away from any action, but if the replays shows a ball carrier or a tackle how could the “TV producer” NOT show this in a action replay?
Foul play should be highlighted, even if the ref may have missed it behind his back

  • 494

    @ MacroBok:

  • 495

Last week Hansen complained, this week Hartley got given a yellow card. It completely blows the conspiracy theories out of the water that the TV producer’s only job is to try and influence the result.

  • 496

    @ MacroBok:
I can’t recall reading that anyone said the producers only job is to influence a match.
I have said, and have seen others say, that he can in fact influence decisions that would not have been made with some timely screening of certain incidents.
    There is a difference

  • 497

    @ nortie:

  • 498

    @ nortie:
Timely screening of all incidence… yes he/she tries to show as many incidents as possible… surely?

  • 499

  • 502

Die moral of the story is… moenie vuil speel nie.

  • 503

As Bakkies n ou heatbutt, of Schalk druk sy vinger in n ou se oog, is dit daai ou se skuld en niemand anders nie.

  • 504

    daai ou=Bakkies of Schalk

  • 505

    501 @ MacroBok:
Dieselfde sal gebeur in NZ of Eng of waar ookal.

  • 510

    @ grootblousmile:
My TV is af :D, niks anders om te doen nie 😆
