My own rating of the Bok players:

    15. Willie
A fairly good game compared what he produced this year. Still a far cry from the Willie that hit the rugby world by storm last year. 6/10

    14. JPP
Always difficult to rate wings when the game plan is about defense. Cant remember him missing tackles. Took a couple of catches from the air, made his tackles, gave support in the rucks in his area etc. 5/10

    13. Janneman
An intercept try. A few good tackles. Other than that…not much. 5/10

    12. Jean de Villiers
A monster on defence. Was skimmed by Eastwood early in the match. Other than that, he was lethal. One half break to pt his team on the front foot. 6/10

    11. Habana
His usual workman like performance when he knows that the ball won’t come his way. Was undone by the assisten ref when he clearly had his one feet on the ground outside the line when he caught the ball. The assistent called otherwise and it led to a try for the Poms. Not any chance on attack afa I can recall. 5/10

    10. Lambie
A welcome return as a starter ahead of that overrated, over hyped Pollard laaitie. A true game manager. Not the perfect performance but the again, the good things that he does will not be blown out of proportion like that of Pollard (and Janneman) while the not so god things will be highlighted. His drop goal proved to be the difference at the end. 6/10

    9. Reinach.
A good enough “debut” as a starter. Very good try running the right supporting line (like Hougie vs the AB a while ago). Some very, very good clearances. A charge down ( or 2), no left foot to speak about, a couple of passes that stopped the momentum but overall a very decent first game as a starter. 6/10

    Forwards to follow…

    8. Vermeulen
Continuing his great international year. 6/8

    7. Schalk
A welcome return as a starter. MoM? I’m not so sure. A lucky try since it should’ve been a penalty against us. A very good game though. 6/10

    6. Marchelle
Getting better and better with more opportunities. Good defending, good at the break down, a steal or two. Overall, a very good game. 6/10

    5. Matfield
10 minutes in the sin bin, a few minutes after the ref told BOTH teams that this was where he “draw the line in the sand”. A few good takes in the line out, a couple of good tackles but no impact overall. Why can’t he be subbed? 4/10

    4. Etzebeth
Best test this year. Good defensive work, good in the line out and even forcing a penalty as he was trying to steal the ball at the break down. 6/10

    3. Jannie
His usual self. One good scrum but other than that, he struggled. Missed the tackle on Morgan before he scored his try. Got injured later on. 5/10

    2. Strauss
All bluster but no real substance. Couldn’t really got over the advantage line when he carried the ball. 5/1

    1. Beast.
Die bees het ‘n kalfie geword. 4/10

Over rated over hyped over gesuiped once again.

    😆

    @ gunther:
    Hahaa… Tounge-Out

  • 365

Mmmmmm, Nama se ratings verskil so ietwat van die Rapport s’n. 😆

    Attachment:

    5-for Morne.

    Aussies on the ropes.

  • 367

    @ IAAS:
I see the Proteas are bouncing back very nicely today after the loss the other day.
Could be a very nice sporting weekend for SA, Bafana and the Boks have already won, now for the Proteas to make it 3/3

  • 368

    @ nortie:
Janneman 8? Was hy beter as Schalk in die wedstryd?

Matfield 5? Alhoewel hy ‘n geelkaart gekry het?

Rapport is belaglik. Dit beteken nie al die spelers moet’n slaagsyfer (50%+) kry net omdat die Bokke gewen het nie.

  • 369

    @ nortie:
    Mucy better than last weekend

  • 370

    @ Nama:
Jyt vir Marcel 6 gegee wat net so belaglik is 😛

  • 371

Moment of the game: Trevor Nyakane receives the ball close to the English try line to drive it up and the crowd goes: Beassssss… Delighted

  • 372

Im notnsure this cricket game is a done deal… 150 is a good score when they have johnson to come on this pitch

  • 373

    @ MacroBok:
    Hoeveel sal jy hom gee?

  • 374

I tend to agree with Rapport – Marcell, Jan & Eben were our best players, imo.
But I also agree with Nama in some respects – Matfield had a poor game, & Schalk receiving MOTM was questionable.

WLeRoux continues to not receive his dues – he is the Bok creator; without him there will be a dearth of Bok tries (very little other than rolling maul tries).

    **

Nice return to form by the Proteas’ bowlers
Gonna be difficult batting for the Proteas as well, especially if it is the Freemantle Doctor that is blowing (dunno if it is, though)

  • 375

    Janneman gets a five.

    😆

    Rapport gives him an 8z

    What were the thinking?

    Ja djy weet mos.

    😆

  • 376

Ja nee mitch gaan die kak uit ons bowl

To be fair they’d been waiting all game to shout beast and the guy had done fokkall.

    😆

  • 378

    @ Nama:
Tien sagte punte lol dan will jy my lecture oor objektiwiteit gmf as de jongh daai bal onderskep het het hy sommer 9/10 gekry oor sy “visie”.

  • 379

    @ MacroBok:

To be fair rapport and namakins are about objective as each other.

    For different reasons.

    😆

  • 380

    @ gunther:
Coetzee was probably my motm, the problem is he is in the way of someone trying to break into the bok team 😉

  • 381

    @ gunther:
    Was still funny though.
    😆

    @ MacroBok:
Daar gaan ons. Waardevok pas JdJ nou in die prentjie?

  • 382

    @ MacroBok:

I thought Schalk had a big game. But Coetzee was unlucky.

Stuart Barnes chose the man of the match so we can’t really accuse him of having any provincial agenda.

    😆

  • 383

    @ Nama:

Don’t get me wrong It absolutely was.

A fair call former of the match.

    😆

  • 384

    @ Nama:
Oh sorry jys baie “objektief”, elke man is gelyk 😉

  • 385

This Perth pitch is getting back to its best in terms of pace and carry.

  • 386

    @ gunther:
Definitely not the flat, fair bounce pitch we usually grt in test matches.

  • 387

    @ MacroBok:

  • 389

Should see out Johnson’s spell and play “normal” cricket.

    No pressure.

  • 390

    @ Jeraldjay:

It’s a shame they’re not listening to you.

    😆
