and with that… ufo phoning home… to a galaxy far far away…
cheers all… have a great rest of your weekend…
next time…
@ ufo:
Hi bud – I concur with most of your comments. I don’t think Nizaam will be available – the injury is apparently ” a hip pointer going down to the groin”. He was extremely disappointed when he had to leave the field. I watched him – he had an ice pack on the hip and he seemed to be in a lot of discomfort – unfortunately !! With that I’m out too !!
512 @ charlesm:
hey charles… thanks for that bud… yeah… he tried to play on but you could just see the agony he was in… weird thing is that it seemed to happen when he was running with no one near him…??
it’s going to be a tough game next weekend…
what was your take on the game… and our players…?
@ ufo: Well I am relieved that we are in the finals. IMO the Bulls did not play an intelligent game (for the most part) and that really helped us.
The Lions will be really tough – we are going to struggle in the scrums.
Our lineouts weren’t good at all. I’m also unhappy about our contesting at the lineouts – too long to explain but I’ll send you a mail some time.
I still think last week’s break maybe valuable in the greater scheme of things – although the Lions are very fit – they have been playing week in and out – we should be ‘fresher” IMO.
When we were leading 25 – 3, I thought we could run away with it. I’m glad we didn’t: that will prevent any possible complacency IMO
Kobus van Wyk (I know you rate him) has impressed me a lot. I really think he can go all the way.
Rynardt made some big hits but we need more balance in the loosies. Rhodes was actually the one who conced the most penalties – that is not based on actual stats but that’s what it felt like to me.
I’ll chat again soon !!
Congratulations PRROOOOOOOOOVVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Well done. Another final.
LET’S DO IT!!!

“I feel quietly confident about next year, next year is our year”
Trademark infringement alert. Get your own motto.
Don’t know why everybody is beating up on poor Ludeke. He took a bunch of palookas to the semi final with victories against the rampant Lions and Sharks along the way. Something the previous CC coach could not do last year with much better players at his disposal.
Leave Ludeke alone, I say. He WILL get it right…eventually.
@ Nama:
Do not talk so loud.. before you know the ARU might hear it and make him an offer to coach the Wallabies.
We cannot afford to lose him… it’s vital that he stays with the Bulls for as long as possible ๐
At the start of the rugby season, when JL Potgieter was kicking them over from all corners of the field, he was touted y Bulls supporters as a possible Bok FH for the incoming tours. Now he is only good enough for the scrap heap because Ludeke preferred him ahead of The Wunderkind at FH.
A season can be a very long time in rugby.
@ Nama:
@ robzim:
Hahaha… true that.
@ nortie:
Hahaha…
Hey, ons is in die finaal boet. Kon nie gister se wedstryde kyk nie want ek was betrokke by KANSA se “Relay for Life” tot vanoggend sesuur.
@ nortie:
Norteeeemmmooo ๐
@ Nama:

Is that the same one HM had to sub against Aus and NZ for Lambie to close out the Tests?

Don’t make the ARU THAT inept, just check with Joubert and Peyper: the ARU is a willing and able customer ๐
@ Nama:
@ Hondo:
What in god’s name do referees have to do with the appointment of the next Wallabies coach?
You’re not making sense!
Again.
@ nortie:
The Lions were really impressive yesterday and played a high tempo game for which the Sharkies had no answer. Turnover ball is going to be crucial – or should I say, quick turnover ball will be crucial.
It’ll be a huge blow if NIzaam Carr is ruled out – which seems likely at this stage.
@ IAAS:
They are a class team, but the same was said of them when they came down to Newlands earlier the season, and we managed to stop them then as well.
We will have to be very solid in the scrums as well
The Springbok selectors have invited Lwazi Mvovo, Cobus Reinach, Lourens Adriaanse (all Cell C Sharks), Handrรฉ Pollard, Rudy Paige, Marcel van der Merwe, Bongi Mbonambi (all Vodacom Blue Bulls) and Boela Abrahams, who starred for the Down Touch Griffons in their Absa Currie Cup First Division final victory on Friday, to join 20 nationally contracted players and four others as the team start their preparations for what will be an arduous Castle Lager Outgoing Tour
The Lions are falling apart.
@ IAAS:
Good.
Pity that Puttick missed out on consecutive tons.
Ontong really climbed into them ๐
@ nortie:
And Stiaan van Zyl impressed again – also missed out on a ton as Ontong finished the Cobras innings strongly.
@ IAAS:
Yep, Stiaan got stuck when Ontong got going….still a good showing with the bat for us

The ARU is a powerful Union financially, and enjoys the backing of their Gov
If they decides that JW gives them the best chance to make the RWC Semis, they will pull no stops to get him
They did the same recently with the SR Final (Joubert, remember the ‘apology’ to the Crusaders?) and the 1st Test vs the ABs (Peyper, remember that ‘apology’ to Hansen?)
Simple

It’s getting crowded there?
๐
@ Hondo:
You lost me.
Still don’t see the connection.
537 @ IAAS:
ARU fixed the game so they could lose and get rid of Ewan… ๐
@ MacroBlouBul:
ARU was planning to get rid of Ewen in any case if Greg Growden was to be believed.
He wrote this on the 15th already “Springbok World Cup winning coach Jake White’s aspirations to lead the Wallabies may come to fruition, as part of an elaborate rescue plan that also involves Michael Cheika eventually being placed in charge of the Australian team.
While the Australian Rugby Union has issued its support of beleaguered coach Ewen McKenzie, it is known that high-ranking Australian officials have been discussing several strategies to get the local game back on track.
Plan ‘A’ revolves around Cheika taking over from McKenzie. However, as revealed on ESPNscrum earlier this week, Cheika has serious reservations about taking over the position in the immediate future, due to his lack of faith in several ARU officials.”

OK, uiteindelik het ons weer elektrisiteit.
Ek hoor jou.
