yeah… that first half was some really good rugby… who knows what happened in the second… they just seemed to fall to pieces…

maybe they surprised themselves… and then thought they could actually win… and then tried to defend their lead… instead of just playing like they had been…

In the long run the pessimist may be proved right…
but the optimist will enjoy the trip more.

While we may not be able to control all that happens to us…

we can control what happens inside us…!

    Good night…

    to you…

    and you…

    and you…!

176 Hi pal. Wonderful imagery.I was there for a little while.
Not as a patient or in an experimental capacity(YOU UNDERSTAND)
There to assist in menial care during a more sympathetic
time of my life. There is a better word than sympathy(caring??) but cannot think of it,Maudlin .Sorry

Now heres the thing. All of the walls and rooms were painted
    in an institutionalised dull green.
None of the LSD, pleasing rainbow hues..
I suppose that the Cuckoos Nest people had undertaken
a scientific study, and that the colour subdued
moods..Same in prisons(Once again not an inmate)
Danie Craven visited(Once again not as a patient)
from time to time.Never found out what his psychiatric credentials were.
This is really a kuk post, and am tempted to delete it but will not.It remains stuck in my consciouness.
Regards Rye PS This post for my good friend UFO

    Time to sleep.Good night

    Tassies @ 179…

    upon re-reading that post… it sounded weird…
was meant in the ballistic sense…
i hit the “post comment” by accident… before I had written my response… the intended one of which appeared at 180…

    187 @ ryecatcher:

    good morning eye…!

sincere apologies… didn’t mean to make light of such institutions…

well… actually I did… but through ignorance & not with malicious intent… just recalled a quote of such sorts from a dark corner in the farther recesses of my often vacuous mind…

    and…

well done sharks… for getting the win and semi spot…!
truth be told I am pleased wp is playing neither the Sharks or lions in our semi…

    both games will be difficult…
lions & sharks playing well… as are the bulls… wp will depend on who of our injured players become available…

    have a great day rye… and everyone…

    cheers

  • 190

    😳 sheesh…

    good morning Rye…!

    189 UFO.HI Pal
Very surprised that you perceived offence given or taken.Neither of the above or alongside. My apologies if post initiated these feelings.
My response was merely to illustrate how things were in those days, and to illustrate how important the shrinks regarded the use of colour.. Clumsily put.
And also to ask questions in my own mind as to whether any thing had changed. When I said it was in my consciouness,it was only as a way of dredging up memory.Clumsily put again…Didn,t provoke any traumatic feelings in me.Howls of anguish not from myself.(Well perhaps for the post)
    Sleep well pal,Regards and apologies.Rye.

  • 192

    hehehe… no worries rye…

was not offended by you or your post at all… it did however make me realise than mine was dismissive of such institutions and their residents… which is not cool…

off at 6am… will chat again…

    cheers…

If an optimist sees a glass half full, then there’s more room for a can of the best.

  • 194

    @ ufo:

    That’s really funny.

  • 195

    @ ufo:
Well done UFO some good posts to start the day.

Slept in a Forrest last night and it was great to wake up in the middle of nature (even if it was a damn bee sting), and then I got home to catch up on the rugby last night and whatever happened, then I read your pieces of wisdom, good stuff! not even bothered about the rugby anymore.

  • 196

PW could have won this, they started panicking after half time, did not realize how easy it was going… got a bit cocky?

Sharks should have REALLY put them away in the second spell.

  • 197

Think WP made mistake taking loss to protect players, lost momentum and belief. Bulls will beat them next week.

  • 198

    Congrats Sharkies.

Aft the 1st five minutes I thought you would run away with it but the youngsters from WP showed true grit and actually outplayed the Shaks for the rest of the 1st half. For some reason they stopped playing in the 2nd half and the Sharks walked away with a deserved win.

Great lesson for our youngsters though and it will hopefully stand them in good stead over the next few seasons.

Now for the Tolletjies and their “Wunderkind” (Pollard) in the semi next week.

    Bring it on.

    could’ve should’ve didn’t

    @ Best:

Hope you bet the farm on it.

    @ Nama:

You’re getting close to being a member of the “glass half full” club. 😆

    198 @ Nama:

Please start posting positively with regards to Pollard, especially this week.
Every time you write him off he produces a gem the following week.

    😆

    @ IAAS:
When it comes to WP/Stormers, my glass is always half full. Al lot of times to my detriment. Wink

    @ Jeraldjay:
I thought calling him a “Wunderkind” is kind of positive. Delighted

The ‘gem’ was exposed in the 2nd half, so badly so, his biggest advocate saw the need to bench him? 😆
And the test was won thanks for tampering with the test protocol, better save your praises to Wayne Barnes rather

  • 203

    @ Nama:
I can’t comment on the match because I don’t watch any CC game, but losing at Newlands to a Sharks’ B-C Team under Peyper came as a surprise ?
    😥

  • 204

    @ Hondo:

Don’t know who your was man of the match wad last weekend- but Pollard was mine.

With you, i’s always about the refs. Or the quotas – It’s time you got a grip on life. 🙄

    @ Hondo:

We’re talking about a Province B team here.

    Wake up.

  • 205

    @ Hondo:
I see some WP supporters blame him for the loss but I think he was just his usual crappy himself. Don’t think there was any bias against WP.

  • 206

    @ Nama:

I love it when Hondo comments on the ref when he admits that he doesn’t watch Currie Cup.

    He’s a loonie.

  • 207

    @ IAAS:
Also funny how he always knew what the result would’ve been AFTER the match is over. Pondering

If you are to believe his conspiracy theories, he should be able to tel us right now which teams will be playing in the final.

  • 208

    206 @ IAAS:
Seriously Loonie, the poor dude.. the marbles are all scattered all over the place!

Sy varkies is nie almal op hok nie… paar van hulle hardloop so wyd as Nama se geweste rond!

Wonder if he and Skoppie are buddies there in Falkenburg?

  • 209

    @ Nama:

    @ grootblousmile:

And how well the quotas played.

Or, should I say, didn’t play. Even if, one of them – dare I say it – gets a MOM award.

Like I said I don’t watch the CC so I can’t tell about Peyper’s ‘performance’
However, I’ll be surprised if he did turn it on WP
