2de prys is twee gratis weke in GBS se tuinwoonstel in die Panne, maar dan moet jy begin hondemis optel ook.

@ Pietman: Cool Piet. Haven’t tasted my namesake for a while I’m embarrassed to admit. Somewhat fussier with the reds in later life. On Pat Howard being related to Doug Hopwood. I heard that at a Wynberg Old Boys evening last year sometime. Can’t attest to its accuracy tho. Doug died about 10 years ago. He enjoyed a dop or five rumour had it. He was only in his sixties when he died. From what, I really don’t know. But I can guess. Young Pat Howard is one to watch. He’s big and strong and usually plays 13. We saw a brief glimpse of that today. Sorry I cant throw more light. I suppose one should check the veracity of one’s facts first.
@ Pietman:
Nag Pietie, amper terug in the Republiek
@ Pietman: ๐ ๐ ๐ Brakpan is seker n lekker plek Piet. Hondkak naas vir vakansie.
@ Pietman:
Tjeers Pieta, jammer jy gaan nie n stop in Jo’burg gooi nie, sou weggebly het van die werk, gaan mos Maandag notice gee, sal sien hoe lank ek moet uithou voor ek begin by nuwe posisie
@ Pietman: cheers Piet. Sorry we couldn’t chat further. I’m in and out all day long.
@ Tassies:
Thx Tas.
I ran into Doug at the pub in the Williston Hotel one night, of all places! He was on the road for Douglas Green &Co at the time, I think he said.
No, Pat Howard had an ozzie ring to the name, that is why I asked.
On the subject of No 8s, what was the name of that youngster from Bishop’s who left for Bath again, played for WP with Pieter Louw and Justin Melck? Burly okie, curly hair, left about 4 yrs ago?
The late Jinx once told me that this boy would be our next Doug Hopwood.
@ nortierd: hopefully there’s a bigger month-end tjek in it for you Nortie. Enough to fly down to Newlands and watch a game or two with us before you retire back to the(your) Vineyard Hotel for celebratory drinks on the patio.
@ Pietman:
Koster
@ nortierd:
Ja man, maar ons sal nog plan sien vorentoe.
Vliegtuie n probleem nou, Ebola en hajj pelgrims en f@k weet wat alles, man sukkel om in die lug te kom, en as jy eers op is mag jy weer nie af nie, of een of ander Afrika-virus gryp jou. As dit nie Borka Harem se mohammads is wat kuk maak nie, is dit virusse, smaak my….

Nee, nie Nick nie, na hom. Ek sien die man se gesig voor my….eishh, kort naam, nie algemeen nie.
@ Pietman:
Naam begin met “D”…
@ Pietman: Koster. He was headboy of Bishops. Was the fastest over 100m at the school. Watched him play against Paul Roos once, where he ran rings around them and almost won the game single handed. He was a brilliant player. Can’t really put my finger on why he didn’t hit the big time with Province. Too small they say but……..
@ Pietman: Ja Piet. Life is tough for you jet-setters. ๐
@ Pietman:
google search, kan net Diack wees
@ Pietman: only two I know of are: Nick Koster and Flou.
Robbie Diack, or maybe not, he came from Sharks country
@ Tassies:
I remember Nick well, tackled the 135kg Stephan Hamman prop of Paul Roos back to kindergarten, broke his knee….those days I watched a lot of school rugby during my winter breaks.
But he was very injury prone, Nick spent months in rehab for his knee at Stellenbosch,Robzim told me, and never heard from him afterwards.
