Super RugbyIt is the Finals of Super Rugby 2014 this weekend! The Waratahs host the Crusaders.

This weekend decides the honors for the 2014 Super Rugby season.

What a game we have to look forward to!

The Waratahs have been good and consistent all season whereas the resurgent Crusaders, who absolutely pummelled the Cell C Sharks last weekend have hit a rich vein of form.

A winner is difficult to predict, there are game breakers on either side, no matter how you look at it. In the final analysis the 2 best Super Rugby sides of 2014 are in the Final and both deserve to contest for ultimate glory in 2014.

13 Other Challengers already now lay by the wayside, done and dusted, only 1 more game to come…. this one!

Who do you think will take the crown and Why?

Let the game continue…. let the battle commence!

OK, the Live Game Article for the Final has been scheduled, my Bru pick is in… ready to rock and roll tomorrow!

  • 2

    I went big….Crusaders by 22

  • 3

Breaking news, just reported on News24:

    “Aussies slay Bok women”

I am gutted, really a black day for us
rugby supporters after the golden performance of the Blitzbokke, now THIS, hau! Cry

  • 4

    @ Pietman:
I picked the Aussie women by 32 or something, we came much closer than I thought, or the Wallaroos or not as strong as they should be

  • 5

    @ Pietman:

They have not only slayed the SA women at rugby but also at hockey at the commonwealth games….. 7-1… that is a hiding of note…

  • 6

    Tra-la-la-la-la!!!

Hi robzim, I see you guys have signed the Belgian Origi, a real bargain I think at 10 million pounds, so the rumours that started at the World Cup turned out to be true. Here is a short clip of a silly song they made for him :

  • 8

Could have been worse, something like…

    “Aussies lay Bok women”

Don’t think I could stomach that, aikona… Disapproval

  • 9

    @ robzim:
Ahh found a longer version of the song just for you, enjoy Happy-Grin

  • 10

    Hummm My pick for superBru!!

    Any suggestions?

    Daze

  • 11

    @ nortierd:

You have to go big now.

Either that. Or crash and burn.

  • 12

Cheetahs 28 Kings 12 (final score)

  • 13

    @ Bullscot:

    @7 and 9

Hahaha… I am certainly not going to spend money to buy that song 🙂

!0 million pounds is probably not too much for him but he will only start at Liverpool in a years time as he was (as part of the deal) immediately loaned back to Lille to play in the French league for the coming season. He is only 19 years old so a lot of water must still run into the sea. Some exciting other new signings though by Brendon Rodgers so I am fairly optimistic.

I would go for Saders by 3 but tossing up a coin might work just as well.

  • 15

Gut instinct and coin tossed combination mean that my bru choice is in!!

Now wondering what I have to do to win the Rugby Talk Superbru Crown!!

I am dying for GBS to reveal the top prize!! I-Wish

  • 16

    @ Blue Bird:

First prize is apparently a 7 day vacation at the Brakpan Inn including breakfasts and daily excursions to the hot spots in town.

Seems like it will be either you or Sharkslover to walk away with it……… if I were you I will be too nervous to sleep tonight.

    Good luck

    🙂

    @ robzim:

Brakpan…. Well, I love to travel and Brakpan would be new to me!

Any idea what the tourist spots would be there? Thinking

  • 18

    @ Blue Bird:
The fact that you also went Tahs mean that you can’t be overtaken even when they lose tomorrow.
Even if the margin is 6, Sharks_Forever will split that difference with others and won’t make up the .80 needed to pass you

  • 19

    @ Blue Bird:

Not sure… maybe the Brakpan Museum, the local Municipal swimming pool , a putt putt course and so on.

Maybe also fishing at the local dam…

You have to ask GBS, I am not very familiar with the place.

Oh my Giddy Aunt…let’s wait and see, maths is not my strong point!!! Afraid

  • 21

    20 @ Blue Bird:
    It’s yours, congrats Approve
Winston Champ also went Tahs, so there is only one scenario where Sharks forever can pass you and that’s if the Tahs win by precisely 11

2nd prize probably 2 weeks in the Panne Inn, a once off special offer to RTs only and arranged by GBS and Scrumdown for the Superbru occasion…..not to be frowned upon though,as the Panne Inn normally only offers rates by the hour ( I suspect GBS at that stage thought that Puma or SF might win this thing).

  • 23

    @ Pietman:
Offers rates by the hour, eh?

    Hmmmm….

    Princess

  • 24

    @ nortierd:
    You-re-HOT Congratulations Congratulations
    Well done bird!!!
We should check with Superbru management, but this is possibly the first win by a lady in any of SA pools!

A woman’s touch? Seems like these women are onto something…

In the “Brumbies Fans” “Gazman” leads with 120.50
Closely followed by “Sandy” a mere .25 of a point behind.

    Amazed

  • 29

    @ BrumbiesBoy:
@28 Only our Bafanny Bafanny who are so flippin up to maggots…if only we had 15 Blue Birds in that side…

  • 30

I went Saders by 15 as I recall. They are in form. Brumbies will try. Not that it matters, I tried to leapfrog 5 people by taking the Sharks and dropped 3 places. So top 10 finish….ho hum….also ran.
