The South African Rugby Union (SARU) has reportedly broken a confidentiality clause after CEO Jurie Roux was shown a forensic report which implicates him in fraud.
According to reports, this comes after SARU president Oregan Hoskins promised not to show the report, which belongs to the University of Stellenbosch, to any party.
The university had requested the forensic investigation after suspicious transactions between the Maties Rugby Club and the university were found.

Roux was earlier investigated by the Scorpions for possible fraud which stems from his days as chairperson of the Maties Rugby Club. He was also the university’s senior director of finance and asset management.
It is reported that SARU had asked the University for a transcript of the forensic report. It was decided that the report would become known to SARU, but that it would not be shown to anyone else.
In an E-mail to SARU, the University expressed its dissatisfaction after the report was apparently shown to Roux.
Hoskins said SARU take the allegations against Roux very seriously and they will give him the opportunity to explain the allegations against him.
Hoskins said his lawyers advised him to hand over the report to Roux’s lawyers.
The allegations against Roux are believed to be the unlawful financing of rugby players’ class fees.
Roux has been the CEO of SARU since 2010.

SARU-BAAS GEE SLEUTELBEWYSE AAN BESKULDIGDE
Hoskins ‘breek belofte’
- Dat die US rugbyspelers se studiegeld, verblyf- en ander koste onregmatig gefinansier het;
@ Nama:
I think Robbie P’s age counts against him.
I hope harmer and Piedt can really push each other the next 5-10 years…
Luckily it is not as if we can lose one to a french club 😀
@ MacroBok:
I was thinking more of some batsman who were given a chance after a very good season only to fail at international level. Be it in the ODI team or the test team.
Guys like, HD Ackerman, Rudolph Steyn, that Indian oke who opened for one test, etc
@ Nama:
It has been much harder post 2006 when we have had a pretty solid batting line up, guys like Rilee, Stiaan van zyl who would have made earlier teams by now will have to work super hard these days, thats why even Alviro is feeling the pressure, over the last 6 years the the bench mark has lifted drastically since Neil Mac and Jacque Rudolph made their debuts.
@ MacroBok:
“I hope harmer and Piedt can really push each other the next 5-10 years…”
That would be great. Proteas the winner in such a scenario.
and thats why I am so hard on JPduminy, sub 40 should not be acceptable in our top 7 if we want dominance. I am glad he is lifting his game, maybe me giving up all hope in him everytime is working for him 😀
@ MacroBok:
I’m sure he knows that an average of sub 40 is not good enough for someone with his talent. I think you are a bit unfair on him. He did come back from a horrible injury and the his role in the team also changed in that he was expected to bowl a bit more. It took a bit of time to adapt, I think.
Since the start of the 2013/14 season, he has done well. 2 x 100’s and 2 x 50’s in 17 innings.
In 2014 alone he has scored 392 runs in 11 innings’ at an average of 49.
Maybe he is at last coming of age, like you want him to.
@ Nama:
yep, I think only Amla has scored more runs this year.
Robbie P has no future with the Proteas with Duminy at 7 and Piedt looking good he’s got as much chance of making that lineup as Albie Morkel.
I think this article is just another illustration of where the REAL problems in SA rugby lie – right at the top, with these fucking greedy, lying, uncaring motherfuckers.

Never mind. I will revert back to not discussing topics with you. It’s too tiring.

Lets hope so.
I’m tired of hium throwing up his hands in the air as if every crap long hop that he bowls is a near miss.

Piedt Skiet is also much less annoying than Tahir’s attempts to spread his wings and fly whenever he takes the wicket of a number 11 batsman.
I do not really understand these allegations:
Dat die US rugbyspelers se studiegeld, verblyf- en ander koste onregmatig gefinansier het;
Unless Roux asked for money back from the “professional” rugby players, then I do not understand what the deal is, other than financial mismanagement. “Dat spelers, van wie sommige nou beroepsrugbyspelers is” wont these guys who benefited unfairly also be investigated, whoever they may be?
Sounds like a witch hunt to me.
What Africa bank did is about a Billion times worse, literally.
“Johan how is it going” asks Piet
“Nee Piet not so well hey, the valke are investigating me for helping out student who had trouble paying for their studies”
What he did was wrong, but this news is definitely sensation to the power of 10 moons.
@ MacroBok: Agreed.
Fraud is stretching the definition in my opinion.

Yes, I was really epecting Tahir to be coming along better than he has by now.
Having said that, the quickies are hogging all the wickets. In another team he may have taken a lot more.
@ Stormersboy:
This is Egoli reincarnated. Only Hoskins is Tim vorster.
@ Stormersboy:
Tahir will still play in the ODI’s where he has had some success.
@ MacroBok: Never saw the show. Still, I posted in no 8 that this seems more like an internal issue to me.
@ MacroBok: Ja. I’d be inclined to play JP, extra batsman and all that.

From The Bulls web i saw this
Junior Springbok captain Handré Pollard will get his second Test cap when he lines up next to returning national captain Jean de Villiers and debutant Damian de Allende when South Africa open their Castle Lager Rugby Championship campaign against Argentina at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday (kick-off 17h00).
De Villiers is one of three returning Springboks who played no part in the Castle Lager Incoming Series because of injury. The others are Frans Malherbe and Eben Etzebeth, who have both been selected on the bench.
Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer moved Jan Serfontein, who had a very good series in June, to the bench as injury cover, with De Villiers and De Allende both returning from injuries, while Morne Steyn will provide back-up at flyhalf and fullback.
“Jan was one of our best players in June, but Jean is our captain and was always going to return once he was fit again,” said Meyer.
“Handré also deserved another opportunity and it will be good to see how he combines with Jean and Damian.
At lock, Lood de Jager will have to fill the considerable boots of the injured Victor Matfield, but he’ll have the experienced Bakkies Botha next to him.
“It’s great to welcome back Jean, Willem, ‘Beast’, Eben and Frans, but I’m also very excited to see what Damian can do after he missed out on making his debut in June because of an injury,” said Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer.
“Jean and Damian have played together before, albeit not this way around. But Damian has experience of playing outside centre from his junior days and he got his break at inside centre when he had to step up in Jean’s place.
“Lood has improved a lot over the last couple of months and although it’s a big ask for him to fill the void left by Victor, I know he has the goods to deliver. He will be well-supported by Duane Vermeulen in the line-outs though.”
“We’re up against a formidable opponent on Saturday and we can’t take any chances or make experiments. The players know they have to be switched on mentally and physically, otherwise it could become a long afternoon at Loftus.”
Pat Lambie will return to Durban on Wednesday to play for the Cell C Sharks in the Absa Currie Cup on Friday evening, when they host the Steval Pumas.
Meyer said: “Pat missed four months of Vodacom Super Rugby and although he made his return towards the end of the competition, it was felt that he could do with game time this weekend before we leave for Argentina and we’d like to thank the Sharks for agreeing to give him a run.”
