Jaco Taute is likely to start at inside centre for Western Province when they tackle the Blue Bulls in a Currie Cup game in Pretoria on Saturday.
According to reports, WP’s inside centre of the past three games, Michael van der Spuy, has a hamstring injury and is likely to miss the trip to Pretoria.

This could pave the way for Taute to start at inside centre after playing in the position off the bench the last two weeks. He also scored a try in last weekend’s 27-14 home win over the Golden Lions.
If Taute starts in the No 12 jersey, then Pat Howard will be chosen on the bench.
Cheslin Kolbe has been a star at fullback so far this season and coach Allister Coetzee is unlikely to change his back trio, with wings Kobus van Wyk and Seabelo Senatla also performing adequately.
Saturday’s North-South derby at Loftus Versfeld kicks off at 17:05 SA Time, 15:05 GMT.
The injury to van der Spuy is no real loss. Besides a fairly good left boot he does not offer much, certainly not on the attack. How he ever managed to keep a player like Pat Howard out of the team is hard to understand.
