DHL Western Province coach Allister Coetzee has released his playing squad for the upcoming 2014 Absa Currie Cup season.
Seven players in the group are still eligible for the DHL WP Under 21 team – including star wing Cheslin Kolbe – but the likes of Sti Sithole, Jean Kleyn, Jurie van Vuuren, Sikhumbuzo Notshe and Robert du Preez are all uncapped at Absa Currie Cup level.
Injured players, Steven Kitshoff and Ryno Eksteen, will take no part in the 2014 Absa Currie Cup, but new wing signing William Ambaka Ndayara has been named in the group along with Dillyn Leyds who is set to return to Cape Town from the Western Force.
DHL Western Province will get their 2014 Absa Currie Cup campaign underway against the Eastern Province Kings in Port Elizabeth on Friday 8 August.
The 2014 Province captain will be announced on Monday 4 August, with the first matchday squad – to take on the Kings – being announced the following day.

@ Stormersboy:
According to Jurie Roux the initial report wasn’t true
So we lost a Fijian and gained a Kenyan

Jurie is quickly becoming the Mac Maharaj of SARU, he has been interpreting and correcting statements and reports quite a lot lately.

@ nortierd:
We’ll have to await the announcement of the Bok squad for the Rugby Championship. I’m sure that Heyneke will have a list of those players to be rested during the CC and those that can play. Some maybe just prove their fitness levels.
@ Hondo:
Dunno about that Maties investigation and where it is headed right now, so many inquiries, commissions, court cases and disciplinary hearings going on across our land, from Nkandla through the North West down to Simonsberg , from pig abuse to police brutality, one simply can not keep track of all these alleged fkups anymore.
@ IAAS: Yes they will announce the WP Captain ater that. Probably De Kock Steenkamp.
