Jerome Kaino

Jerome Kaino showing off some leg, but for a very good cause.

Yes that is Jerome Kaino sporting a Northern Mystics dress!

The Blues and All Blacks flanker got stuck into his workout routine in this dashing baby blue netball outfit at Unitec yesterday, all in the name of charity.

Kaino is one of four ambassadors of the Child Cancer foundation who were challenged to carry out crazy acts in order to raise money for the One Day for Child Cancer Ambassador Challenge.

Ironically Kaino won the challenge, outgunning fellow All Black Kieran Read, TVNZ newsreader Bernadine Oliver-Kerby and Silver Fern Katrina Grant to raise the most money.

Kaino brought in close to $2000 and the ambassadors collectively exceeded their target of more than $4000.

Hundreds of New Zealanders took up the One Day challenge in July, staging events ranging from cupcake bakes and to marathon swims, head shaves and ice challenges.

ABOUT THE CHILD CANCER FOUNDATION:

The Foundation needs to raise $6 million annually to help children with cancer and their families by providing practical one-on-one support tailored to the different needs of each family. No child cancer journey is the same.

Family Support Coordinators hold the hand of each child and their family until they are ready to let go, from day of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.

The average length of treatment for the most common form of childhood cancer, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, is three years for girls and three and a half years for boys.
