Yep, winning the toss in test cricket still counts a lot.
Decent 1st innings score and it’s your game most of the time.
Remember when we came back at readmission, most tests ended in boring draws.
Since Steve Waugh and his Aussies changed the face of test cricket with their record nr of wins, most tests lately end in a result

Brumbies penalty again, deep inside the Tahs 22.

  • 123

Morkel gone to, as # carries his bat. SA 282 all out.

  • 124

Brumbies opt for the 5m Scrum

  • 125

    Morkel is a useless batsman… 🙄

  • 126

Crusaders will be more rested next week, they had a much easier game, this one is intense and Tah’s defending for all they are worth

    Yep

117 @ nortierd: We need to bowl very tightly on the one hand – keep them out there as long as possible, or take loads of wickets very cheaply.

Tahir and Duminy going to have to dig very deep.

Tahir made him look even more useless!!!! And remember there was a time we were talking about him as a potential all rounder when he first came on the scene

    128 @ Just For Kicks:
I don’t have much faith in Tahir, he is highly overrated and thinks more about his bowling prowess than he actually shows

  • 131

130 @ nortierd:Exactly, my thoughts entirely – and JP is only a part timer – I meant it tongue in cheek!!!

  • 132

Waratahs just scrambling, hardly making any play, yet holding the Brumbies out well

  • 133

12 Minutes to go and the lead is still 8 points

  • 134

Tahs get yet another relieving penalty, holding on.

  • 135

    131 @ Just For Kicks:
I can understand a bowler going for plenty and taking wickets, but he goes for plenty and doesn’t take wickets, so it’s of no help, and they give him so many overs as well

  • 136

Just looking at that Morkel wicket again, he was obviously just told to put in as bigger stride as possible to negate the LBW. No one thought to tell him to watch where the ball pitches!!!!

  • 137

Good rugby! Compared that rubbish we dished up earlier, why can’t we play with the same intensity for 80 minutes as these guys?
    I worried…
    Hope HM can fix this.

  • 138

Tahs kickable penalty… about 40m out

  • 139

135 @ nortierd:I heard Amla praising him last week, and saying he was a valuable player in the side. I wonder if he really believes that, or it was a desperation statement, as we have no spinners to choose from when you need them on the sub continents pitches.

I do not rate or like tahir….embarrassing to see him celebrates when he takes a wicket of a number 11 batsman as if he has just dismissed Donald Bradman.

Time to see if Dane Piedt has what it takes to perform at test level.

    137 @ Pietman:
Jake The Snake is an average coach… with limited Game Plan Options.

If his game plan does not work, his teams simply do not know what else to do.

  • 144

    Waratahs 19 / 8 Brumbies

It just shows that these two sides are in it to win it.

It looked like the Sharks just turned up because they were contractually obliged to do so. I didn’t see any hunger in any of the players.

Agree, he goes over the top

  • 147

If theTahs win here, it would be due to bloody good defence

  • 148

    Tryyyyyyyyyy Bernard Foley…

Massive work by big Will Skelton there!

  • 149

This is end to end stuff, the crowd have certainly got more than their monies worth. Wow, what a wonderful game.

  • 150

Waratahs get into the final, well done
They are poor out on the left wing on defense though
