    Good start

I’d rather play with a French Letter than a SauerKraut right now thank you very much.

    @ BrumbiesBoy:
There are of course similarities between the French football team and the French rugby team………they both have 0 after the final whistle

  • 12

Hope there is better crowd, the crowds at Ellis park vs overseas teams have been extremely poor compared to local derbies (which apparently people do not want)

  • 13

    @ MacroBull:
Crowds all over the 3 countries are poor.
Certain games pull big numbers, like Stormers v Bulls at Newlands, but on the whole attendance isn’t very high.

I wonder if the 20 people who will pitch up in Bloem are going to boo Frans when he runs out or touches the ball?

  • 14

    13 @ nortierd:
Mid season I researched crowds at work (friday afternoons and all)

The lions were averaging 35-40k for local games compared to 20k for overseas teams.

  • 15

    @ nortierd:
I must say you’ve got to hand it to the Poms when they sing to the Krauts though: “Two World Wars and one World Cup…do dah, do dah!!!”
    Overjoy Overjoy Overjoy

  • 16

    14 @ MacroBull:
That’s a high number, even 20K is a lot for overseas opposition, especially considering it’s not like it’s games that will make them reach the playoffs.

  • 17

    15 @ BrumbiesBoy:
The only similarity between the Poms winning the World Cup and the world wars is, all the footage is in black and white

    LEEEEEEUUUUUUWEEEEEENSSSS! Shout Shout

  • 19

    @ nortierd:
Lions draw an average of 45 000 for local and 20000 international… amazing difference when people were bitching on the interwebs they want less local derbies and more international games

  • 20

    16 @ nortierd:
The Sharks had an average crowd of 33000 for local games this year and 26000 for international.

    @ Pietman:
    Overjoy

  • 23

    19 @ MacroBull:
Bear in mind that a huge portion of people living in Jo’burg are from other provinces, so when the Stormers play, they have a big following.
Same with the Sharks, they have a massive fan base and fan club up here, so at least 50-60% of the crowd are probably not Lion supporters, but the visiting SA team’s fan club.

    Hellloooooooooo manne,

Was a busy but good day for me.

We resolved the last of the outstanding issues in Ermelo, Mpumalanga today where my family and I were assisting someone in real trouble. Mission accomplished, fully!

On the businees front, this afternoon was hectic… it was to the Banks, seeing clients, fixing computers and some great behind the scenes matters where Rugby-Talk.com made giant leaps about the immediate future.

All and all a very productive, lucrative and successful day!

Gooooooooooo Lions, moer the Rebels sommer stukkend!

    Hi Marco
Bear in mind that the Lions Vs the Rebels is NOT considered a DERBY!
    😆

  • 27

    @MB
Lyk nie eers asof daar 5000 mense vanaand op Ellis Park is nie

  • 28

    @ Pietman:
    Mooi gese, ou aap!!!
    Wink

  • 29

    23 @ nortierd:
At loftus the average is 37000 for local and 24000 for international.

I am just pointing out that there were a lot of people on here that complained how they will stop watching rugby if we play more local games and less with the anzacs…

Well clearly the majority of people are more likely to watch local derbies than international games in super rugby.

Peyper on the whistle, Berry on the sideline, I went Lions by a margin of 3 penalties
