Considering the amount of Toyota Cheetahs that are leaving for greener pastures, Saturday’s Vodacom Super Rugby clash against the Cell C Sharks may be the last time that their fans may see them in their orange and white strip before joining new teams.
And since it is their last home Super Rugby game of the season, coach Naka Drotske has included all his stars for the clash to try and score a win against in the local derby.
No less than eight Springboks are back in action for the team after spending the last month with the Springboks and Trevor Nyakane, captain Adriaan Strauss, prop Coenie Oosthuizen, lock Lood de Jager, utility forward Teboho Mohoke, flyhalf Johan Goosen, wing Cornal Hendricks and fullback Willie le Roux all return to the side for the clash.

Players such as Goosen, midfielder Johan Sadie and Philip van der Walt are all leaving for greener pastures while Adriaan Strauss and Trevor Nyakane are both also linked with big money moves.
But without the likes of Boom Prinsloo and Heinrich Brussow, both who are out with injury, the Cheetahs have made a surprising selection of hooker Torsten van Jaarsveld on the flank ahead of regular Jean Cook, who also recently returned from injury.
The Cheetahs obviously are looking for someone to replace Brussow and chase the ball in Brussow’s absence, and be the “fetcher” in the team.
With that in mind they want to end off their home commitments on a high and will want a victory over the Sharks. “It’s a home game for us, therefore, it is very important for us to get a victory over the Sharks,” Drotske told journalists.
“I think all the pressure is on them though. They are still in the running for the title and, if they want to host a home semi-final, they need to win their next couple of games. In South African derbies anything can happen and we look forward to the game.”
“Of course the couple of weeks off have been disruptive in the sense that we couldn’t train because of the absence of our Springbok players. The last couple of weeks we’ve just looked at player fitness and that sort of thing. Since Monday we have been going at it non-stop as had the Boks back in our structures.”

Wasn’t there speculation that Jake will rest his Boks for this match?
Cheetahs have a far superior backline, but without Boom and Brussouw, they will struggle in the forwards
The pathetic Cheetahs will obviously lose.. everybody knows it.
Interesting day in the world of sport.
Murray out
Djoko in
Federer in
no football
and the news broke that Darryl Impi, the first and only south African to wear the yellow jersey in the Tour de France , failed an anti-doping test……
Hopefully the Cheetahs will still be in the game when Watts comes on the field.
VRYSTAAAAAT!
