Bulls prop Frik Kirsten has been advised by doctors to call time on his rugby career due to a serious neck injury.
Kirsten, 25, has been out of action since March after injuring his neck in the Super Rugby competition.
According to reports, the injury is so serious that doctors have advised Kirsten to never play rugby again.

Kirsten’s dad, Barend, said it’s uncertain if his son will ever play rugby again.
“Fusion surgery will have to be 100% successful for him to stand any chance of playing again,” said Barend Kirsten.
The tighthead prop will make a decision about his future in October when he undergoes a follow-up scan.
Pity to hear that a rugby player’s career is cut short due to an injury of this nature. It would better for him to give up playing rugby completely, than to risk more serious damage.
