The Commonwealth Games was underway and the first Rugby games of these games were on Saturday 26 July 2014.
All games were played at Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow.
South Africa won the Gold Medal, New Zealand the Silver, Australia the Bronze!
Before the Final of these Games, New Zealand had not lost a single Commonwealth Games Sevens game… well, that record no longer stands.
The new Commonwealth Games Gold Medal Champions are South Africa’s Blitzbokke… for 4 more years!
It was a tough and physical Final, and New Zealand still deserve their plaudits for being the premier Sevens side in World Rugby.

You can’t get better work than that Carol.

I think they only come on to take the place kicks, then get subbed off.
Naas Botha, the famous Springbok #10 had a stint in the US as well.

87 @ cane:
I was invited to the official premier of the movie in SA. Assisted Morgan Freeman and his security and then got a call from Nu-Metro Cinemas.
Was cool, black tie affair, the ’95 Boks and local celebs all hanging out, and then myself and the missus 😆 For some reason the paparazzi failed to take our photo on the yellow carpet ( not red )
106 @ nortierd:
How could they ignore the famous or infamous nortierd??
Does not make any sense… hehehe
107 @ grootblousmile:
Was a fun evening though, at the Emperors Palace Cinema complex, everything laid out, so for once it was fun seeing how the other half lives.
108 @ nortierd:
Handbriekie & Myself often get invited to some of the Red Carpet events in the SA Music Industry..
It is nice to dress up every so often and to go to these Gala Events.
The celebs are nothing special.. some of them think their poeps don’t smell, some of them have too many airs and graces about them, but then again there are a lot of nice folk in between as well.
I see SA has something like 15 Medals already… hope we can add a GOLD one tonight in the rugby.
Will take an extraordinary effort though!
@ grootblousmile:
I don’t really care for their airs and graces, I’ve found in any case that as a smoker, you invariably end up with co-smokers and they are usually cool, because all us smokers are treated like pariahs in any case
😆
111 @ nortierd:
Yeahhhhh, the smokers are lekker sociable folk!!
Come to my office and you can smoke… hehehe
Fok nou’s ek honger… ek dink die huis het van my vergeet…
Nee jinne, laat ek eers loop kos soek… damn!
What time is the Rugby on this evening?
