French Top 14 club Grenoble are reportedly hunting the services of promising Bulls lock Paul Willemse.
According to reports, there are rumours that he could leave the Bulls after the completion of this year’s Super Rugby competition.
The Bulls though insisted that the 21-year-old Willemse would play for them in the Currie Cup later this year.

Their High Performance Manager, Xander Janse van Rensburg, said Willemse is contracted to the union until after the Currie Cup.
“Paul will be important for us during the Currie Cup competition and we won’t let him go before then. There was also no such request.”
It remains to be seen though if the Bulls will fight to keep the services of Willemse once the Currie Cup is completed.
Bulle moet keer en hierdie mannetjie behou….ek sien hom en Eben Etzebeth/Lood de Jager as ons toekomstige Bokslotte.
Really hope he stays at the Blue Bulls, was thinking that in the long term he and Marvin Orie could turn out to be a really good lock combination for the Bulls. This is what must make planning really hard for coaches these days, with some many of their personnel coming and going.
I’d say this is a fringe player that can be put on against Scotland who will be without many top players next week. That way he gets a feel for test rugby and some time in the systems if he is needed in case of injury down the line but more important he is capped so if he wants to go chase the money in France he can’t after 3 years or whatever it takes turn out for France, especially considering all the input SA rugby puts into these players.
