209 @ Pietman:
Yeah, we will talk.
The “Dummy Run” for the other publication goes out next week, and Rugby-Talk’s marketing material has already been supplied and included.
The Companies have been registered, bank accounts are open, accounting processes properly in place, staff appointed, offices sorted, Domains & Mail Boxes all up and running – all set up by yours truly, infrastructure in place, networks in place, editorial staff in place…
We’re not sitting still on this side, believe me!
@ grootblousmile:
Reg so!
Best of luck GBS!
Perhaps instead of a dedicated server, go with the Cloud with automated scaling up and down based upon usage?
You see, before Rugby-Talk would have a valid claim or chance to go Commercial, it was essential to build the “Feet” or “Audience” here… and that we have now done, first gradually and now rapidly on a serious exponential curve upwards.
Advertisers want “Circulation” or “Exposure”, before they will lay out money for advertising…. it’s a simple yet paramount requirement…
213 @ mikeybrass:
The Clouds are in place already, long before this year started.
The size of our Viewership is what has shot up so dramatically… so Dedicated Hosting Server environments are required, because the bigger Cloud scaling also costs money.
Other aternatives have been explored, redundancy and mirroring is in the process of application already…
Proper, auditable measuring of traffic is already fully in place… down to every single click!
No stone is left unturned, and luckily the best of the best in the business is involved from the marketing side.
The “Talk Empire” has just started, on solid footing!
@ grootblousmile – good luck with the Talk Empire. Forgot I had already registered here a while back, actually forgot about this site. Nortierd reminded me when I was on sarugbymag. Bookmarked now.
216 @ Test:
What was your other Registered name, so that we could possibly combine the 2 by getting rid of one of them?
Or do I have it completely wrong here and you did not need to re-register a 2nd time…. can’t think that you would have, because I would have received notification.
We are getting seriously big here on R-T… things are going places!
@ grootblousmile: Fantastic. I work in IT as a manager over here in the UK. You don’t need it but feel free to drop me a line if ever you would like a third/fourth/fifth opinion on anything European-based 😛
@ mikeybrass:
Hey Mike
Quit archeology?
218 @ mikeybrass:
Mikey Brass Balls,
Great stuff, as you might know, I am in IT as well, my own IT company for 18 years already… previously in the Active Legal Profession for years!
On the IT side, I still come all the way from the good old Dos days, learnt to program in C++ for Dos (well, after some experience in Basic in the 80’s).
I have basically lived the whole Personal Computer IT revolution in the world!
I do a lot of Network Administration and have the Qualifications for that and then I also specialize in a purpose-written Software Product, which I wrote for the Legal Profession in SA… and which I sell and maintain at a monthly subscription fee per computer which runs the Softs… 651 Legal Firms currently on my books.
I sell Computers, peripherals, Printers & stuff… and I fix stuff for fun.
In the last few years, specially lately, I have also branched out further and I do web development as well… and my websites for clients are done properly, proper SEO built in ect.
What I do not know about IT, is not much, I tell you!
Glad to have another IT oke aboard, sometimes one needs a sounding board, to run things by.

So, SA loss is the UK gain?
🙂

Not much to do with ‘luck’
As for the one point loss, I thought the bench composition means troubles for the BBKs in the 2nd half, we saw it the last 10 minutes against the ABs at the Pool test; Theron cleared his bench and the ABs scored fast tries in no time, only the siren saved the day 🙁
