@ nortierd:
that’s assuming none of them gets injured?

Jake is at the Sharks to win them the SR, not to gain the respect of the public, so his best side will be playing.
Which, IMO, is fair and makes sense, his bonus structure is dependent on them winning the competition.
Im willing to bet at least two of them will be injured come the world cup.
If Eben and PSDT manages to be fit by super rugby next year, you know that both will have to play every single minute under AC and Jake.

No I mean, giving those players a break before the play offs will be savvy for the Sharks… personally I hope he plays them 😀
@ MacroBull:453
World Cup year is not such a big deal if they play every SR game.
No June tests and a shortened RC ensures that they will be playing less games than usual
and so the flyhalfs, pat has his mandatory few weeks off every year due to injury, Goosen is a walking sicknote, and pollard plays moer physically than all our flyhalves combined, it is unbelievable that he isnt injury prone (touch wood)

Good post, Nortie.

If he rests them say against the Cheetahs and they lose, it means they might end third and will have one more playoff game.
If he plays them and they win against the Cheetahs and Stormers, they end second or maybe 1st, depending on the Tah’s, and then they get one week off during the playoffs.
What would you prefer?
@ nortierd:
just because there are 6 less games, you assume no one will break down?
@ nortierd:
you have been telling us for weeks that the stormers wont lose to them at newlands
I see that I made it into the top 10 on bru.
I wonder where Gunther ended up.
MacroBull wrote:
Lol, they can break down even in practice, ask PSdT
Maybe 1 or 2 SA sides will make the playoffs, so they will be playing mostly the round robin matches at most.

@ nortierd:
If they play the same team continuously still I hope they lose, if they aer wiling to change their ways ill allow them some room, I dont care if they win it because we already have.
but if they try do win it by playing their players into the ground ala stormers tried to do in 2012, it will be very very very bad for rugby if they win.
@ Nama:
Thanks Nama
Top 10 in the June Internationals?
Flip, just by picking the bleddie Crusaders I ended just outside of the money in my important pool, could have ended 1st.
Did you get the CC invite?
… and a gameplan that is, tackle first, kick second, tackle third, attack fourth
@ MacroBull:463
It will always be very very bad for rugby if they win, doesn’t matter how.
😉
How come JPP was given Man of the Match ahead of Babyface de Jager?
Nama wrote:
We all were asking the same question.
Marcel was also better than JP
@ nortierd:
No, I haven’t.
Nama wrote:
Invite was sent, I sent a reminder as well
@ nortierd:
Yeah…I’m still not so sure about JPP at outside centre. He made a few mistakes on defence in that channel. Fekitoa/Kirudrani will test him to no end and I don’t think he’ll pass the test.
I’ve just accepted. Thanks for the invitation.
472 meant for Nortie
@ Nama:
JP was always more of a defensive wing than a try scoring machine, his try scoring stats is way down compared to other test wings with the same amount of caps, so if he gets into the swing of things at 13 he should do ok defensively
@ nortierd:
I would hope so. At this stage though, I’m not yet convinced.
@ Nama:
Think he is also more of a stopgap with all our centers out injured
look jpp can appear very lazy at times. but when your backs are against the wall he is such a vital player to have. I will never forget that tackle in the quarter final where jakes might boks nearly lost to fiji…was awesome
@ MacroBull:
Yes, he has his moments. But sometimes he makes such elementary mistakes for someone who has been playing at this level for so long. He needs to cut that out.

“To put 50 points past a team also in the top 10 doesn’t happen that often anymore, and even though it wasn’t a “full strength” Scottish side, it was also far from a full strength Bok side.”
Bring on the ABs!
😆
Come on Nortjie’,
that Boks team needed the despicable Steve Walsh last week to win against a depleted Wales test team by a one point?!?
watching too much soccer may cause a loss of perception? 😉 😉

Just to show how poor was JW’s team really in 2007; they needed one in a century tackle from JP – of all players – to advance against a team such as Fiji??
ever thought about that?
