Imagine if 65% of the SA system was filled with overseas players. Even though many of ours are going overseas, it would eventually erode the grass roots level as less and less people turn to rugby, knowing they only have a 45% chance of making it, and without ‘making’ it on the local scene, the overseas countries won’t see them. I feel that is what is happening in France.
98 @ MacroBok:
I suppose it’s one good thing that I’m working too & can’t see this apparent snore fest…
99 @ Gumboots: Cheers bud.
I think Pietman is missing in action, I think his drugs are kicking in… or he’s desperately looking for his tollie and goonies!
Hoe is die wedstryd? Klink maar droewig as ek so na julle luister…

@ Just For Kicks:
but there is no way we can support 14 teams with our players, we cant even support six teams, we would have to fill up 9 extra teams with foreigners.
The top 14 is massive, there is no ways they could run it without the foreigners.
Like I said, it is difficult to compare, It could be good for the rugby, but they still have more local players taking part in the top14 than we have in super rugby.
Wether top is killing their rugby is debatable. If south africa had our own top 14 that is a gold pot of money, we might have to fill up 5 or 6 teams with foreigners but still keep most of our top players, then it would be worth it?
@ Just For Kicks:
It is not the foreigners that are killing french rugby, it is mostly the lack of a salary cap.
2nd Half ON!
@109:eta: the same could be said off south africa where only 3 or 4 unions really have money and buy up all the players available, and not even great players.
Wallabies penalty, within range for Nic White
109 @ MacroBok:Absolutely – what I was really alluding too.
Missed way to the right

Another Wallabies penalty, 45m out… shot at goal again
115 @ Pietman:
Rugby is maar kakkerig.

Ek dink dis meer aangenaam om na n kg dermvet te kyk as wat dit is om die game te kyk
