Western Province flyhalf Gary van Aswegen is set to join the Eastern Province Kings for a trial period.
Van Aswegen joined up with the Port Elizabeth-based team on Tuesday.
The trial period will be for one month, but if all goes well, the 24-year-old could represent the EP Kings in this year’s Currie Cup.

The Kings are looking to add depth to their flyhalf stocks as they prepare for their re-entry into the Currie Cup top-flight.
George Whitehead is the currently the number one flyhalf, with Hansie Graaff and Ntabeni Dukisa behind him.
Van Aswegen is currently behind Peter Grant, Kurt Coleman and Demetri Catrakilis in the pecking order in the Cape.
He was highly rated by the WP management but several injuries in the last few years have halted his progress.
As part of their Currie Cup preparation, the EP Kings will play the Bulls in a friendly game in Port Elizabeth on Friday night, followed by clashes against the Sharks on 4 July and SWD on 11 July.
They start their Currie Cup campaign at home against Western Province on 8 August.
