Suid Afrika se krieketspan kry einde Maart die “mace” en die gepaardgaande preisgeld as die no. 1 krieket toietsspan in die wereld. ‘n Maand later word Aus gekroon as die no. 1 span sonder dat daar enige toetse gespeel is. Hoe werk dit inag genome dat Aus 7/9 toetse verloor (4 vs Ind & 3 vs Eng) het voordat hulle ‘n “purple patch” getref het en 7/8 gewen het (5 vs Eng & 2 vs SA), met een verloor (vs SA).

So, effektief het hulle in hul laaste 17 toetse 8 verloor, 2 onbeslis en 7 gewen. Wat het in April gebeur dat hulle no. 1 geraak het?
